Re: Battle of the Boards Bracket Contest
I'm afraid the litany of bad timing and other disasters that have bedevilled BOTB pick ems this year is going to affect Wimbledon too.
I have a very important deadline on 30 June but I can't start the final batch of work for it until I receive some stuff which, heavily delayed, is due to arrive later today. From then on, I'm going to be working long days (and probably some nights) until the end of the month, so I won't be able to run a pick em in the normal way.
I could get an entry form up on Friday and Bethan thinks she might then be able to get the lists of everyone's picks up by the middle of next week. If we did that, I would get the results up sometime, but it wouldn't be until the middle Sunday (by which time much of the fun is over) at the earliest, and might be even later if I end up having to try to catch up on sleep on 1 July instead.
So, the question is, would people prefer me to put up an entry form even if no results end up appearing until close to the end of the tournament, or should we give Wimbledon a miss?
The sensible option would probably be to give BOTB a miss as for RG and only do it again once I'm in a position to do one properly (hopefully the USO, since there are no significant work deadlines around that time), but if enough people would prefer an entry form to go up even if results won't come out until very late in the tournament, we might as well give it a go! Hence me canvassing opinion on a couple of the forums that usually generate the most entrants ...

Steven,
Agree to skip Wimbledon due to your heavy workload. If things calm down, you may want to do a BOTB for Canada and/or Cincinnati then United States Open to get back on track.

Re: Battle of the Boards Bracket Contest
I also vote to skip it, since seeing the results is at least half the fun! But if you decide to do it anyway, I will still enter because half the fun is better than no fun at all!

Re: Battle of the Boards Bracket Contest
We decided in the end to try to run a BOTB for Wimbledon and got all the pre-entry stuff ready only to find within minutes of opening entries that the application that converts them has 'upgraded' itself and won't convert the filled in entry forms into the format the entry sheets are set up to take any more.
Unless there turns out to be a very quick fix, in which case the form might go up again tonight, we're going to have to give up on Wimbledon BOTB after all. It might well be possible to work with the new format eventually (i.e. for a future BOTB), but it'll take a lot of re-jigging of the spreadsheets which I just don't have time to do at the moment.
In the end, I spent a lot more time on the pre-entry stuff in the early hours of this morning than I had ever intended to and then this happened - the worst combination possible and sooooo frustrating! It makes even watching Gulbis muppet away a match after being stupid enough to pick him seem only mildly annoying in comparison!
