I make very wussy picks because I've been blown out several times by trying to save too many players for a later round and making marginal picks. I think it's a reasonable strategy.

In the first round, I definitely look for the wildcard that has no business in the main draw who is playing a good top 60 person and pick against them. At non Roland Garros events, I also look for the top 50 type player who goes out of his way to play on clay except when forced not to. They are usually vulnerable.

The list of people that Blake has lost to at Wimby is not impressive. Seppi, Schuettler, Ferrero (when not playing that well), Mirnyi, Hernych, Sagsian, Krajicek. Not necessarily bums but not that impressive.

Other players I try to avoid are Youzhny, Tipsarevic and in later rounds, Nalbandian. By avoid, I mean don't pick for or against them.

Poor Tommy. The man gets no love.

Maybe the sleek black outfit amps up Rafa's serve? I don't know, but I like it.

If Haas wins today, we'll know our winners! It'd be anyone with Haas left who picked on the correct side of Murray/Roddick match.

So I'm cheering for Haas ... and against my SP pick of Murray

Doesn't look like my scenario will work out. Oh well. Either my favorite player will be in a grand slam final, or I'll be "stuck" picking Roger in a grand slam final.

21 get through with Federer, but:

1 has no pick for the final

Of the other 20 -

19 have Murray available
1 has both Murray and Roddick available

I wish we could allow it. But, we have to be consistent.

I had the thread up even before the order of play was announced to give everyone more time to get their pick in. Most pretty much knew which way they were going, so they just needed to post it.

All the Murrays are out.

But, a bunch of the Fed pickers had Murray left for the final. So, they are out too.
