    Re: ATP WTF London 11/10 - 11/17 2019

Tsitsipas just took the first set over Medvedev in a tiebreaker. Really high quality set.

He was. They also did a photo shoot when they weighed him.

I don't think it's meant to be like calling him Hulk or Beast. Speed Demon is a fairly common term, so I think it's more about how fast he is.

    Re: Tennis Coaching Merry-Go-Round

    Really? I hadn't heard that.

I've actually always thought that she lost too much weight, and started rallying too much. I think she'd be better off with a few extra pounds, standing on the...

    Re: ATP WTF London 11/10 - 11/17 2019

Mmmhmm. Someone mentioned it on Twitter. It's the first time ever that the entire field is European.

Probably makes it a little tough to make Laver Cup seem competitive. Making the courts...
  8. Re: Year End Championships Scenarios for Nole/Rafa #1

I think that was mostly about be tired. He's won 2 small indoor tournaments this year. At that point, he had made the finals in his last 6 tournaments, so I think he was gassed out.

    As usual,...

Almost definitely for singles. I imagine it's happened in mixed before.

Those pictures are adorable, but I kind of wish his girlfriend was super tall. :p

    Re: Tennis Coaching Merry-Go-Round

That's a really bizarre one, but I think it's just Pliskova's nature. Rennae Stubbs helped her improve a lot, but they added Conchita to the team to sub in whenever Rennae had commentary...

They won't reshuffle the draw. The rule is that a draw can't be reshuffled once the first Order Of Play has been released.

    Re: The Broadway/Theater Thread

Odd fact: I was once in a community theater musical that was directed by one of the original cast members of A Chorus Line. I had no idea he was a big deal until someone casually mentioned that he...
  13. Re: Year End Championships Scenarios for Nole/Rafa #1

Djokovic is 640 points behind Nadal.

Because indoor hard is an okay surface for Djokovic, and possibly the worst surface for Nadal, and Nadal is injured, you'd have to assume Djokovic is still the...

    Re: '19 WTA YEC Shenzen 10/27 - 11/3

Barty! She has variety and power. She has honesty and poise. She has spontaneity, which is a word I had to look up for the proper spelling. She's... wait for it... a "proper bloke?"

    I really...

I don't want to quote, because someone did a ton of work to figure out all of these scenarios.

    Here's a link:...

Someone spelled it out on Reddit today. I'll find a link.

    Re: '19 WTA YEC Shenzen 10/27 - 11/3

Barty and Pliskova are locked in at #1 and #2, respectively.

The loser of Svitolina/Bencic will end at #8. The winner will be #6 with a final, #4 with a title (and only 1(!) point behind #3...

    Re: '19 WTA YEC Shenzen 10/27 - 11/3

Going into the semifinals, I'd have to pick Svitolina as the favorite. It's hard to understand just how slow the court is, so I looked up a graphic representation.

    Re: '19 WTA YEC Shenzen 10/27 - 11/3

That coaching did NOT happen at 2-5. It happened at 2-3, when she was still on serve. She was immediately broken at love, then Pliskova held at 15, so she lost 8 of the next 9 points. Making it...

I think this shows how dominant Nadal and Djokovic are. #2 Djokovic has more than triple the points of #8 Berrettini.

    Re: '19 WTA YEC Shenzen 10/27 - 11/3

There can be co-#1s, and there have been many times. It's just a little less common of the women's side, where it's easier to play both singles and doubles, so their schedules don't always line up.

    Re: ATP M1000 Bercy 10/28 - 11/3 2019
