On further consideration, Kristyna (checked to get the spelling right this time) is the female Karlovic. Sixth on the tour in aces (despite playing many fewer matches than almost everyone else near...

Puig pulls it out in two tie-breakers after 2:51. Pliskova had saved a previous match point with a scintillating passing shot. Poor Krystyna just never seems to pull through in these matches.

I was watching that match. I thought I heard the coach say something about boobs, but assumed I'd misheard.

In current action, Monica Puig and Krystyna Pliskova are at 6-6 in the third set. ...

Down 3-0 (two breaks) in the second set, she called her dad down again, and she was crying. Some evidence for the "too much, too soon" crowd.

    Re: WTA Int'l Luxembourg 10/14 - 10/20 2019

Gauff called her dad/coach down for a consult at the very first changeover, after getting broken. That's very unusually early, no? I've only watched a few points so far, so not sure what's been...

So Tennis Channel picks up the same commentary that DAZN is streaming here? Yes, that was Stephanie Dubois. The other commentator (don't know who he is) is apparently a Canadian also.

I thought they said those were his first of the match. Looks like they were his first of the set. Either they misspoke, or I misunderstood.

That was an incredible final set. Monfils kept falling behind, coming back, falling behind, coming back. And some amazing points in there too.

    Monfils forces a final-set tie-breaker, despite double-faulting THREE times at 5-6.

And another to start the tie-breaker. And apparently those were his first the whole match!!

Yes, but she's 27, so she's had 5-6 years after university (and she was playing while there). She's had a lot of time to find her game.

On the other hand, as they said after the match, she's...

ESPN has been having an orgasm all day in anticipation of the Osaka-Gauff (or I should say Gauff-Osaka) match. Don't know the last time they would have been this worked up about a third-round match.
