    Re: ATP M1000 WTA P5 Cincinnati 8/11 - 8/18 2019

Agreed. The umpire (Fergus Murphy) has been much too lenient here. It would be so wrong for Khachanov (or any opponent) to lose a match (due to distraction) because the other player is disrupting ...

Looks like Serena has withdrawn. Jessica Pegula is in as a lucky loser to play Zarina Diyas, who just defeated her on Sunday in the final round of qualifying. Diyas up 2-0 already.

It was actually five consecutive days--she played her first (second-round) match on Wednesday night.

Sticky: Re: Talk about Rankings (TAR :))

Andreescu moves up to number 8 in the Race to Shenzhen. Incredible, considering how little she's played this year (essentially January, March, one match at the French Open and this week in Toronto)....

    Re: WTA P5 Toronto 8/5-8/11 2019

Halep got broken her first two service games to down 3-0, rallied to tie it up at 4-all, lost the next two games and then retired.

Was strange as she called the trainer out so that she could cut...

    Re: WTA P5 Toronto 8/5-8/11 2019

Osaka prevailed in the first-set tie-breaker, but Swiatek has been very impressive again tonight, after coming back from a first-set loss last night to defeat Wozniacki.

    Re: WTA P5 Toronto 8/5-8/11 2019

Andreescu comes back from the dead to win 75 in the third set. She was up 3-1 (as she had also been in the first two sets), got broken, and then seemed to run totally out of gas. She was barely...

    Re: WTA P5 Toronto 8/5-8/11 2019

Thought I looked a couple of minutes ago and Barty was done 4-0 15-0 in the second set. Now 4-3 (still down a break).

Happy to have been misled by the forecast. Have tickets for this evening.

    Re: WTA P5 Toronto 8/5-8/11 2019

There will probably be little play during the day today. Good chance of rain (which has already started where I am) every hour through 8 p.m. tonight.

    This debate presentation is ridiculous.

Sticky: Re: Tennis Random, Random 2.0

Of course, none of this will be a surprise to anyone here. Still, I wanted to run the numbers for myself to see just how lopsided the numbers were.

My stomach is in knots. Especially because every time Federer is serving, he has to hold to stay in the match.

Federer back in sync to start the third set. Breaks to go up 3-1.

McEnroe mentioned that he'd never tried a Pimm's, so the producer had a couple delivered to the broadcast bunker.

TV comms suggesting that second set was Federer's worst ever at Wimbledon. Certainly a shocking string of errors there.

LOL. That pronunciation makes the 'ch' sound like the German 'ch' in 'ich'. But it confuses things even more, as it puts the accent on the last syllable.

England ties it up an a very nice pass as well. But not as many nice touches as for the American goal.
