    Re: Election 2020

The first QAnon believer in a safe district was nominated in Georgia's primary yesterday: Marjorie Taylor Greene.

The Republican Party just took another step toward a dangerous conspiracy theory...

My bet is on Thursday for the day he makes it. But earlier than that is more likely than later.

So I think the payroll tax executive order is getting the most attention. I assume the Democrats will sue about the unemployment benefits one as well because it'd be dangerous for a president to be...

    Yes. Per the 22nd Amendment:

Re: The Run to the WH

Karen Bass's pro-Castro comments are potentially more troubling electorally. They could really harm Biden in Florida.

Re: covid-19 Virus Updates and Discussion

I'm surprised at how few deaths India has with how many cases they've reported. Does anyone have a theory why they don't have more than they do?

Re: The Run to the WH

I don't understand why Trump wants to buy ads in the DC area. On a similar note, there were a number of Trump ads here in San Diego a few weeks ago. I asked myself why, but I would say that even San...

    Re: Other Sports & C19

I'm not so sure about that. I agree that MLB's plan was always more likely to lead to outbreaks. However, NBA/NHL's plan needs a large amount of trust. If one player (or support staff) breaks the...

My biggest worry is not that they will be deployed on November 4th but on November 3rd, guarding the polls in minority-majority areas.

For Ponchi's question, I have voted absentee in two states (Washington and Oregon) that are absentee by default, though Washington hadn't fully switched over when I lived there. I registered to vote...

Re: The Run to the WH

If the Democrats retake the Senate, RBG could possibly retire on January 1st, depending on the margin and how much confidence they have in Joe Manchin not to vote for a Trump appointee that he would...

I would not say Kansas is safe. If Kris Kobach is nominated, I would say it's a total tossup. One poll at the end of...

Poll: Re: Great strokes. Smash. ATP.

I want to give an honorary mention to Monfils. It's not that his smash is amazingly good, but it sure is entertaining (like the rest of his game).

One of those stands out, and it's Boebert. All of the others are running against incumbents in safe Democratic districts, or in the case of Perkins, states.

Re: covid-19 Virus Updates and Discussion

My hypothesis is that China had the most total deaths until mid-to-late April, but we'll never know for certain. As for per capita deaths, once Italy took off they probably passed China quickly.

How about Sam Stosur (for the best 2nd serve)? While the stroke has deteriorated along with the rest of her game in recent years, the kick she got was absolutely fearsome.
