    Re: The Broadway/Theater Thread

Nice to see Christopher Durang finally get a Tony! He's been a favorite of mine since high school.

I'm not a huge fan of musicals myself, but there are a handful that I really enjoy. My favorite is probably Chicago (Into the Woods would be a close second).

My favorite flop is probably Aspects...

Other than Death of a Salesman and Porgy & Bess I've never heard of any of these shows.

Awww, we had tickets to see How to Succeed in Business at the end of this month, but they were just refunded yesterday because the show closed.

I doubt highly that one failure, however colossal, will mark the end of Julie Taymor's career, but certainly will limit the free reign Broadway seems to give her.

Will definitely skip this one, then. I don't have very many religious experiences when it comes to musical theater, but seeing Bebe Neuwirth in "Chicago" was one of them.

The hubby and I went to see August: Osage County tonight with Estelle Parsons. She was great, and even though the production was uneven and a bit overly theatrical, it had a really good script.

I'm no fan of musical theater as a general rule, but seeing Bebe Neuwirth in Chicago gave me chills, and probably made me gay. ;)

I've never even heard of this musical. What does that say about the status of my gay card?

If you grew up in smalltown Minnesota, you'd take whatever "culture" you can get, even if it meant watching Greater Tuna at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater. ;)

I love anything by Ira Levin. If I were to make a list of Top 10 books, The Stepford Wives would be on it.

    Re: The Broadway/Theater Thread

OK, as a general rule, I hate musical theater, but I wouldn't be gay if I had seen a lot of them. I don't know if I have a top 10, but I bet I at least have a top 5.

    1. Chicago (and even as a...
