Re: '19 Wmbldn Day 13 OoP & Discussion

Roger did get it to the fifth set, but I don't see a positive outcome anyway... :(

Sticky: Re: Talk about Rankings (TAR :))

There is a decent probability of Halep ending the year as #1 for the third straight year. If so one can't say WTA has no consistency at all.

The battle for WTA #1 is heating up again. Barty still ahead in the race, but Halep now close and Pliskova not that far behind either. It will likely come down to who can have a great USO.

    Barty...

Any more Slams for Serena? I think if it doesn't somehow happen at USO this year the odds are under 10%.

By the way at the risk of stating obvious the other extreme in this match up where Federer has the greatest advantage is not grass, but indoor hard.

Oh, come on. A lot has changed - Rafa used to win regularly on hard as well. Not anymore. If you think that doesn't mean anything then we just disagree.

Re: '19 Wmbldn Day 11 OoP & Discussion

I think the problem is that Nole doesn't have any obvious weaknesses (Rafa does) and his serve is harder to attack on fast surfaces than Rafa's. Also probably a psychological advantage. The match is...

Re: '19 Wmbldn Day 11 OoP & Discussion

I was fairly confident about Roger winning today, like 70% confident. Something has changed in this rivalry in favor of Roger in the last 3 years. Djokovic is a different story, though.

Sticky: Re: Tennis Random, Random 2.0

Fun fact: if Serena and Roger win the title both will be the oldest GS winners of open era.

Not sure who'd Serena replace, but for Roger it is Ken Rosewall who won his last title (AO) shortly...

12th Wimbledon final and 31st GS final overall for Federer. Today was his 101st Wimbledon win. No one else has managed to reach 100 in a single Slam yet. He'll be an underdog against Djokovic, but...

This might still go five, but even if it does it's too late for it to reach the classic status of 2007 and 2008 finals.

This first set was more important for Roger than Rafa. I don't think Roger has ever won from behind in a best of five.

Re: Final Slam Count for the Big 3

Federer could really use one more win over Nadal at a Slam this week, but I'm not sure he can still at this age. Either way Djokovic is a heavy favorite in the final.

    Re: ATP WTA GS Wimbledon 7/1 - 7/14 2019

To win the Wooden Spoon he would have had to lose in the first round. That has only happened twice - 2013 Wimbledon and 2016 AO.

It's likely that google translate makes a decent job of pronouncing it (use detect language). They usually do for other languages I know.
