Re: covid-19 Virus Updates and Discussion

Have you heard any numbers about what factor the deaths in China might be off by?

The 40x factor for cases would not surprise me.

Re: The Run to the WH

Why just those swing states? I would have at least added Arizona, if not Ohio, Iowa, Nevada, and New Hampshire as well.

    Re: The Failing Economy

That is a valid point, and this is why I would have said I'm glad I'm not the one making these decisions if this had happened four years ago.

Re: The Run to the WH

If Biden is really +9 nationally, he will win the election in November easily. If we go by the Cook Partisan Index (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cook_Partisan_Voting_Index), that would make states...

    Re: The Failing Economy

Do the numbers of people flying scare anyone else? Yeah, it's decreased by a lot, but over 200,000 people flying every day is still a huge number of possible vectors of spreading the virus. If I had...

    Re: The Kitchen

I made biryani for the first time today. It came out a bit mushy, but it sure tasted good.

    Re: Covid19 & Tennis

I don't think they could hold Wimbledon anyway, but why did the AELTC rule out playing behind closed doors?

The gaping hole will be the economy he once held as the centerpiece of his reelection effort.

Re: The Run to the WH

However, there was a YouGov poll from Thursday-Saturday that had Trump's approval at 48% and his disapproval at 46% (and another from the same site from Friday-Sunday that had him down 9%).

    Single...

    Re: Covid19 & Tennis

Yeah, in addition to Coronavirus, which the situation probably won't improve enough this year for the Olympics to happen, something else to think about is that if you postpone the Olympics by even a...

If RG actually happens in September, they'll need at least one clay warm-up, right?

    Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2019

I totally agree (except maybe the Graham Norton part). The EBU really jumped the gun.

Re: The Run to the WH

Yep, there's a reason I said Alabama instead of Kansas. That said, if Kansas goes blue, that's probably a sign that the electoral vote count is not going to be close.

Re: The Run to the WH

Ponchi, all of what you're saying is very logical. However, I'm not sure logic applies for many Trump supporters. I don't see any way he loses in places like Idaho, Alabama, and Oklahoma.

    Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2019

I don't think it was the right thing to do, at least not at this point. I think it should have been postponed for a few months with the expectation that it would be a smaller-scale event, and...

    Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2019

Something else being mentioned now is postponing by a few weeks. I'm unsure that that will actually help, but we'll see.

    Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2019

I think at this point the performances will be recorded in studios and broadcasted later. Even if the event is closed to the public, it would take a lot of people working together to build the stage....

Re: The Run to the WH

Since the only possible beneficiary of this primary going on longer is Trump, I wonder if Obama will endorse Biden soon to try to hasten its end?

Re: The Run to the WH

Bloomberg might win a couple hundred delegates on Tuesday, but he doesn't really have a shot at the nomination. I think that ship has sailed.
