    Please find below Sunday’s results from the 2014 ITF Beach Tennis World Team Championship that took place in Moscow, Russia on 17-20 July. Italy, the 2012 champion, regained the title with a 2-0 victory over defending champion Brazil. A total of 24 teams took part in the third edition of the event.

    The Team Championship is a mixed competition in which nations compete against each other on a knock-out basis. Each team is comprised of two men and two women, with ties consisting of a men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles rubber.

    The Team Championship joins the individual ITF Beach Tennis World Championships as the flagship events on the ITF Beach Tennis Tour. Since the launch of the Tour in 2008, worldwide participation has continued to grow each year. The 2014 Tour will see around 200 events held in 37 countries, while 54 nations are currently represented in the ITF Beach Tennis World Rankings.

    Series’ 11th Year to Feature Expanded Television Coverage Including
    Record 25 Consecutive Days on ESPN and Tennis Channel

    WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., July 17, 2014 –The 11th season of the Emirates Airline US Open Series, the five-week North American summer tennis season that links eight ATP World Tour and WTA summer hard court tournaments to the US Open, launches next week with the men’s BB&T Atlanta Open. Since its inception in 2004, the Emirates Airline US Open Series has increased television viewership and event attendance, while generating new corporate partnerships for the sport.

    First doubles team to qualify for the 2014 WTA Finals in Singapore as competition expands to eight teams

    ST. PETERSBURG, FL, USA – The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) announced that the World No.1 doubles team, Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci, have become the first doubles team to qualify for this year’s BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, to be staged at the Singapore Sports Hub from October 17-26, 2014.

    $38.3 Million US Open Purse Features Record $3 Million
    for Each Singles Champion

    White Plains, N.Y., July 9, 2014 – The USTA today announced that the total purse for the 2014 US Open will increase by $4 million dollars bringing the total purse for the tournament to a record $38.3 million and an 11.7% increase over the 2013 US Open.

    Five additional Sectional Qualifying Tournaments were completed this week, advancing 20 additional players to the 2014 US Open National Playoffs – Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles Championships in August. Below are the winners from each event.

    USTA Northern California – Chamisal Tennis & Fitness Club; Salinas, Calif.

    MEN’S SINGLES: David Hsu, 18, San Jose, Calif.
    --- Hsu will be competing for Stanford starting next fall. He won the 2013 state Central Coast Section tennis singles title in California while in high school.
