    Tennis is a streaky game, played by often streaky players. Emotions play a critical part in keeping or giving up the momentum. I think thatís why we see playing pumping themselves up whenever possible. On the other hand, those who fail to conceal their negative emotions from their opponents are just giving the other player(s) all the more reason to fight harder.

  2. February is the Oddest Month

    On the tennis calendar, that is. But what else should we expect from a month that changes length every four years?

    January's action is played largely Down Under with the Aussie Open and its warm-up tournaments. In March, the stars are on US hardcouts at the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells and/or the Sony Ericsson Open in Key Biscayne/Miami.

    Then there's a relatively cohesive season of European clay court tournaments in April and May leading up to Roland Garros, and
