So, how many people are riding on "Kid Porsche" today?

He was up a break and then blew it.. back on serve...

Plus, Wozniacki had been serving for the match just a minute ago......

Wozniacki? Her match has started? I must've missed it in scoreboard...should I be nervous/angry?

Of course, thanks to salmon, the number of games people win today is very important too!

EDIT: She just won...whew!

Seb is up 3-0 on Guga.

Are you talking about Querrey? I counted 15 people on his wagon today, give or take one--the largest of the day. I counted quickly.

Tommy Haas is not taken against will not play Nicolas Kiefer. The 29-year-old still has a inflammation of the nasal sinuses had to fight and therefore the first round match at the 3.77 million dollars with doped Masters in Miami against the Hanoverian (is) cancelled.

As many breaks as holds. And we're getting treated to another set!

It's funky, that's for sure!

And it's also funny... When a player comes back from 5-1 (I think it was 5-1, might have been 5-2, but I think it was 5-1) after already being down a set, I always seem to forget about the nightmarish play that must have got her in that position and instead love that "never give up" attitude... Though this was probably more about Makarova gagging than anything else.

Still... At this point, it's like Patty Schnyder vs. Patty Schnyder... Who knows what to expect.

LOL. I didn't notice who was Dechy's opponent. After seeing Nakamura play in IW, I'm not surprised she was double bageled. Poor girl.

Thought the same thing, aedra. Obviously she still can't find the court with her shots. :( It's really kinda painful to watch...and I was just watching the scoreboard online!

Absolutely!

But don't call me Dani for short. The last thing I need is for people to think I have an history of an eating disorder and that I can only win a contest every 5 years.

LOL! No Dani for me either - I already have a hard enough time getting places like Starbucks to notice I'm female. I end up "Daniel" every time. Even tried my middle name once and ended up "Dennis"! Sheesh. :)

How so? To improve his game? Because it could also mean he's getting a back-up if he loses early (of course, the French will probably beat them anyway).

I wonder why he's not playing with Fish or Blake just as a back-up for Davis Cup

I looked through Andy's doubles record (probably the briefest "player's activity" on the ATP site for someone over 20). He played 2 events last year (not counting Surbitron), withdrawing from both after 1 or 2 matches (he beat decent doubles specialists). He's played a match with Melzer before, in 2005. They lost in the first round. He's played with 6 non-American partners throught his career - a few tourneys with Gonzo and Srichaphan and one (I think) each with Melzer, Koubek, Santoro, and Grosjean.

Since Tamira was such a sweetie at IW, I'm hoping Alize is a good warm-up for Chaks (similar game style, just not as good). By reaching the 2nd round, Paszek has already defended her points from 2007, and it would be great to see her notch a win over a top player.

Who are we looking at from the States? Madison Brengle? Maybe Asia Muhammed, Sloane whatever her name was and a couple of others I'm blanking out on right now?

awww :(

Llodra loses to Jurgen (the) Melzer in a pair of tiebreaks. After an impressive start to the year, it seems Mikel doesn't like outdoor hard courts in the US.

Hopefully, now he'll be fresh as a daisy for doubles, but it didn't work out that was at the PLO@IW.

Melanie Oudin (playing right now) and Coco Vandeweghe are considered perspective as well. I doubt Brengle will amount to much - at her age (and with steady supply of WC's) she should be ranked much higher.

I think you can guess where that random comment was directed. He served 3 aces in a row that one game from down 30-40 and that let him break the next game.

There´re also Coco, and Melanie Oudin, who´s playing right now (EDIT-I see suliso got there first). I think it´s too early to tell with all of them. They´re also all younger in age and experience then Wozniacki or Cornet. There´s not really anyone who is not still playing juniors coming out of the US, unless i´m forgetting

I think you were, too. Now Marat has to hold to stay alive at 4-5 in the third. I was pretty impressed with Reynolds' serve (not to be confused with Reynolds Wrap) at San Jose. But 17 aces vs. Marat is a whole.'nother.level.

And Marat starts the game inauspiciously, with a double fault: 0-15
quickly to 15-30
2nd serve, but 30-30
2nd serve again ... 30-40, MP ... eek!

2nd serve AGAIN ... phew! back to deuce
Ad Safin, and ANOTHER second serve. Game Marat.

Hey, Marat. Here's a dollar. Next time it's your turn, why don't you BUY a first serve that goes in? This is when Tracy says, "it's time to not hold anything back."

phew, deuce.

another 2nd serve, but gets the ad. (his 1st serve % is below 50 in this 3rd set)

Reynolds 2nd serve, another mini-break, 3-1 Safin.
Another 2nd serve, but Bobby gets the point, 3-2 Safin.
DOUBLE FAULT?!?!?! 3-3
2nd serve, 4-3 Reynolds. :wall:
5-3 Reynolds.
2nd serve (I don't think Bobby's made a 1st in this TB), Marat gets mini-break back. 5-4 Reynolds.
Ace! Safin 5-5. :wiggle:
6-5 Reynolds. Match Point.

Ashley's turning out to be quite the little fighter. She's had several opportunities to let Virginie take this second set and she's battling battling battling.

I love it when it is clean like that and you don't have to wait.

When do we start having streams on this tournament ? I hate just looking at scores :(

Tomorrow, I think.

Did anyone else's scoreboard freeze? Maybe the person/people who update the scores were big Razzano fans? It stopped working for me when she lost.

Justine finished with 10 aces  and 40 winners with 28 unforced... those are some decent stats for first round straight set win.

I'm so very happy I was wrong about Andreev's match. I think I overestimated Berrer.

Well, I was going to post a poem for dear Agi, but what I came up with while getting lunch is nowhere as elaborate and... poetic as this. Bravo!

Harkleroad's having a nice little resurgence.

Jarkko. :( Sorry beau.

Can't believe Chan went down in flames in the 3rd like that. Did she let Bammer or Nakamura take over for her or something?

One doubles win for the Bondarenkos to go before one answer is greater. If a loss, answer is equal.

Yeah, those are awesome stats.

Serena ends her match with 24 winners to 18 unforced. A +6 ratio is good enough for her.

Could be a good quarterfinal.

...I notice another bizarre scoreline in a Kuznetsova match.

Great job Pebbles! :cheesy:

I've noticed an odd trend in WTA matches. One player will take the first set then crash out in the 2nd only to blow through the 3rd and take the match. It's not an across the board trend but it's something I see alot. And usually only in the WTA....

Ah, don't sweat it, shtexas.

Because I'm sure it's nothing a well-timed injury timeout wouldn't fix. :p I mean, that altitude in Miami is really tough on players with a history of breathing problems. :lipsrsealed:
