I was going to put this in the "troicka" thread, but the Oscars deserve its own thread.

Just a reminder, the Red Carpet shows begin at 6 PM Eastern time. HFPY, hope to hear your commentary!;)

I usually watch "E!" for the Red Carpet.

I will watch only if Ryan Seacreast is not hosting. LOL.

And what's with the revival of Lisa Rinna? She annoys me also so I guess I will have to watch it muted.

I don't know about Seacrest, but they had Kim Kardashian co-hosting some sort of per-red carpet red carpet show earlier today. Eww

I honestly can't think of any other reason he would have one, or should have one.

I think his star is actually for his work on radio.

Which means he'll soon be getting a second star for TV :vomit:

He just busted into Seacrest's interview of Jennifer Garner and Laura Linney, telling Seacrest he's been "looking for him for years." Jennifer Garner looked absolutely terrified (he hugged her and apparently kissed her on the neck)

I'm sure it'll be on youtube.

She's had it pretty short for awhile, I saw her in NY a couple months ago. She kept fixing it every time they showed it.

I thought Keri Russell looked the best so far.

He's also going to be in a new Woody Allen film in a menage a trois nude scene with Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Jo

People are already talking about how "scandalous" this scene is since it's in an Allen film. Heck, he wants to do something to increase $$$ made on the film.

PLEASE, the devil had to make a deal with Loxy, just so that Loxy doesn't get pissed off. Talk about hell breaking loose.....

Foxy closes her eyes, and say I will not jack this thread, I will no jack this thread.

The Academy went global. No American actor won an award this year. Even though Ruby lost, that's remarkable.

I'm just glad Clooney didn't win... Sorry. He just works what little is left of my last nerve.

Glad to see it win. I would have rather had Juno win, but I'm not upset at No Country winning :)

She gets my best dressed vote.

Worst dressed went to Daniel Day-Lewis's date and/or wife...

Aww, I kinda liked Jennifer's dress. But after watching her read off the teleprompter, I don't think she'll be winning more Oscars anytime soon.

What's funny is that on E!'s red carpet show, Kimora Lee was loving J-Hud's look but picking on Heidi Klum.

That's what I thought :lipsrsealed:

They're doing live press conferences on E! right now. Cotillard's pretty cool.

I just looked at IMDB. She's also going to be in Nine . And I've realized where I've seen her before! In Mary

Kimora only had one adjective--fabulous. At first, we thought she was using it as a euphemism for "big girl," but then she called Amy Adams fabulous, too, so we decided it was her euphemism for "not famous, but still looks good in clothes."

One of them didn't like Cotillard's dress either. Idiot!

Those people have no taste. They need to bring back Joan, Melissa and that strange guy who used to do the fashion wrap-up with them.

As for Hudson, the dress was ok. On her...NO!

I LOVED Jennifer... For the obvious reasons. :)

I didn't see Lewis' wife, so for me, Diablo Cody won hands down.... someone call PETA.

She made it very clear she liked the look...on a bigger girl. Apparently they should only wear white.

Loved hearing Marion Cotillard sing just then.

I thought it meant "not as great as me, but looks good. But not better than me."

I agree. Very sweet moment.

I've now turned the TV off, though. My man's in slumber-land- and I'm headin' that direction, STAT.

The first year Helen Mirren was up for an Oscar she showed up in a get up that included a feathered hat and black boots. Joan politely asked her what the hell was she thinking when she put that on. Ever since she's been not only a best dressed woman of a certain age but among THE best dressed.

Joan and Melissa could drive you nuts but by the time Joan finished with Mr Day Lewis and his wife ( she would've left Tilda Swinton in a quivering heap on the floor) they'd know not to show up looking like fashion disasters ever again.

I liked J-Hud's dress although I didn't see it from the back.
