Denver is disgraceful.

It will be interesting to see if Indy goes all out vs. Tennessee next week. Or what the Giants and Pats will do.

I think Washington will definitely beat Dallas and get intyo the playoffs. I'm not quite as sure about Tennessee.

This game doesn't mean anything for playoffs but I definitely think that Donovan McNabb and the Eagles will have a big win next week vs. Buffalo in what could be his last game as an Eagle.

Even if it is at wide receiver, not quarterback, JT? Why Seneca doesn't get more time playing at WR I never understood. The couple of times they have used him for sneak plays, or as an additional receiver, it has seemed that odd, but good, things have happened.

I'm just happy it's competitive. I don't know if you have heard about the tons of Giants fans who made a killing from selling their tickets to Pats fans. One person paid 26,000 dollars for a luxury box, not a suite. This is the type of money you pay for a suite at the Superbowl.

So far, all of the quotes of the playing members of the 72 Dolphins team that I've heard or read have been laced with bitterness.

One went so far as to say the "exhibition season is over" now and the real season has just begun. That 16-0 won't mean anything if they don't win it all.

Them saying it may be a sign of being bitter. But, I said the same thing on another board because it's true. It's a matter of expectations. For example, Dallas losing to the Steelers in SB X was a great season for the Cowboys. When Dallas lost to the Steelers in SB XIII, the season was a failure. This season, to New England, will be a failure if they don't win it all. The 16-0, while a record to be discussed in the future, won't mean much if they are not the champions too.

But, I would not call it an exhibition season either. Lol!

"Exhibition season" and "16-0 will mean nothing if..." are overstatements. It's also a dismissal of the teams that pushed the Patriots to the limit, not the least of which were the Giants who turned a "meaningless" game into one of the best of the season.

Will the Patriots consider it a failure if they don't win it all? Likely. But their record will still mean something. I wanted them to lose earlier in the season to take the pressure off. But it is what it is.

And what it is at this moment is that they have the best regular season record in NFL history.

And I see no reason why they won't win it all. If they were an inexperienced team having this kind of season, maybe. But, they have won three Super Bowls this decade. I think actually having done it recently will counteract the pressure.

Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots. Now if only hockey were still important and the Bruins were on top again...

For a team that was predicted to finish dead last in the Eastern division by some (including SI), the Bruins had been holing their own - a couple of weeks ago they were 3rd or 4th in the division.... an 0-6 patch later and they're back tied for 7th.

Eh, can't be greedy.:D

Agree that Brady wasn't predicted to be quite the Hall of Famer that he is, but he actually had a very good college career, esp his 5th year at Michigan. Cassel - who never started at USC, and played back up his entire career there - isn't at the level Brady was considered to be at pre-'01. Don't know much about Guttierez (sp?) though...

Can't argue with anything you said. I guess I just feel as though the Pats would still find a way to be a great team if Brady was injured. It's one of the best teams the game has seen in decades.

I can think of another team that would be toast without its overpaid overrated QB, but that's all I'll say about that.

NFL first-round playoff schedule

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The NFL announced its playoff schedule Sunday night, with the wild card rounds set to take place beginning next Saturday and continuing through Sunday afternoon.

The Washington Redskins (9-7), who clinched the final NFC berth with their 27-6 win over the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, will head to Seattle to face the NFC West-champion Seahawks (10-6) Saturday afternoon, with NBC airing that game at 4:30 p.m. (ET).

The AFC North-champion Pittsburgh Steelers (10-6) will host the Jacksonville Jaguars (11-5) Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. (ET) on NBC. Pittsburgh dropped three of its final four games, including the season finale Sunday to Baltimore, to fall to the fourth seed in the conference.

Sunday afternoon the New York Giants (10-6) will visit Tampa, where the Buccaneers (9-7), winners of the NFC South, await. That game, set to be aired by FOX, will kick off at 1 p.m (ET).

The Tennessee Titans and the San Diego Chargers (11-5) will cap the wild card weekend at 4:30 Sunday afternoon in Qualcomm Stadium. The Chargers won six straight down the stretch to earn the three seed, while Tennessee earned the last AFC nod on the regular season's final day by downing the Colts, 16-10.

The following weekend, New England (16-0) and Indianapolis (13-3) will host the AFC wild-card winners, while Dallas (13-3) and Green Bay (13-3) earned the first-round byes in the NFC.
