Didn't the Sox come from 3-0 down to win the league and swept the World Series a few years back?

Different times, different team. But it can be done.

(The pitcher who ruined the double play to end the inning at 1-0 ought to be put in front of a firing squad.)

That game 2 loss was huge--very deflating. We didn't have much of a chance to win either of the last two games. But if Mr. Beckett can lead us to victory in Game 4, maybe we can get our mojo back.

How stupid was that? He was in no position to catch that ball. It was behind him the whole time. Let the outfielder with better perspective make the catch. Instead, he drops it and instead of 2 outs nobody on, it's 1 out man on second.

That error could be deadly.

Wow this complaing thing works.

The Indians make a bonehead decision to not score Lofton, get double played to retire the side, then make an infield error on the first Sox batter at the bottom of the 7th, a rookie hits a two-run homer and we've got a bit of insurance in a 3-run lead with 6 defensive outs to go.

Hold your serve, Sox!!!!

You can blame Francona for this inning. Dice-K gave up exactly 1 hit and 2 walks through 5 innings and 1 out. So what those two walks were back-to-back. The hitters still aren't hot and have no confidence. Since he left, the bull pen has picthed 5(?) hits for 5 runs.

We got outta the inning with a lead. 1 run or 12 runs. It's a lead. Hold it. Six more defensive outs and the game is ours.

Tremendous night for Jacoby. I need to see 2 titles as well. One was VERY good though. It changed my life. It is so sad to admit but I became a much calmer sports fan all around after that. It was the only time I uttered the Tom Cruise line "You....complete me" and meant it and it was about a baseball title. Very sick, I know but true. I'm so glad my dad got to see it before he went over the Alzheimer's edge. These guys have no idea how they affect the elderly.....since they probably kill a few a year as well...

Yes...I read your tributes with more heart felt emotion than most because of some of the similarities. My dad is still somewhat OK. He knows me and he knows some of what is going on...but he GOES TO BED before these games end and, honestly, that is when I knew he was failing. He is so skinny and immobile but he had a big hand in my success so he lives on. And as I mention before, I wish the sports figures knew how much they mean to some people. I have a cousin with Downs Syndrome as well and she LIVES for these games.

He's in because he doesn't trust Gagne but I say he should have given him a shot with a clean inning and 3 runs..but if he did what Oki did the public would skewer Terry and Eric. I guess he could have chosen Snyder or one of the other starters...

Yesterday he hit two doubles in the same inning to score runs, had a lead off double today to get momentum revved up in our favor, and had that beautiful catch at the wall on what looked like a game-tying homerun.

Lowell only got it because he has the experience. But the rookie outshined him.

Having to disagree on which Red Sox player deserves the World Series MVP is the best disagreement one can have. There's about five of them that deserve it!

Not as thrilling as '04, when I still couldn't believe it could be done, but enjoyable all the same.

New avatar will be Papelbon getting 3rd base off of Jason Varitek after the last out.
