Hello, led14pa2 and likembrave, and Welcome to the men's US Open Suicide Pool TIEBREAKER.

Congratulations to both of you for winning the men's suicide pool. You will both receive a medal.

However, there is only one prize package, and therefore, we have to conduct a tiebreak.

The tiebreak will be:

1) your choice for the winner of the final match; and

2) the total number of games played in the final (for example, there were 29 games played in Djokovic's 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 win today over Ferrer). Note: A 7-6 set counts as 13 games.

PM your selection for tiebreak answers to me (shtexas) and when I have received a pm from each of you, I will then post your tiebreak answers here in this thread. If, for some reason, your responses are the same to both parts, we will add a third part. [I went ahead and added tiebreak number 3 in the post below in the abundance of caution]

Best of luck, and again, congratulations to both of you for a great two weeks!

Your men's final (like you don't know) is:

(1) R. Federer (SUI) vs (3) N. Djokovic (SRB)

bump

In case we need a third tiebreak, the question is:

Total number of points won by the winner of the match. For example, Federer won 116 points in his win today.

I worried about a third tiebreak being necessary, but from the responses I received, we will have a winner after tiebreak #2:

The answers:

Led14pa2:

1. Federer to win
2. 38 games played in the final
3. 193 points won by the winner

Likembrave:

1. Federer to win
2. 31 games played in the final
3. 135 points won by the winner

At 26 games through 2 sets Likembrave needs Fed to win tiebreaker and the next set 6-0, 6-1, or 6-2.

Thanks, it was getting a bit stressful at the end, Djokovic blew a lot of break points and set points in the match. This contest was really fun, thanks to all the people like shtexas who help organize it and run it.
