Congratulations and Welcome to Day 7 of the men’s suicide pool for the United States Open – 2007 edition.

Remember, once you use a player, you can never use them again. There is a “picks and results thread” posted and updated once a day (sometimes twice) so you can check the choices you have already made. PLEASE CHECK THE THREAD OUT.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT YOU FOLLOW THE POSTED SCHEDULE OF PLAY BELOW. BE CAREFUL. We have lost people who chose a player not playing on that day or chose a player who already lost.

Post your Day 7 pick by replying IN THIS THREAD. Your pick must be in by Sunday, September 2, 2007 at 11:00 AM New York time (east coast), 8:00 AM on the west coast. For those in Europe, London is five (5) hours later than the east coast. Don’t be late as we hate making those hard decisions, but we will. This thread will be locked at 11:00 AM EDT, rain or shine, so please don't wait until the last minute or you may find it locked when you hit "post".

Best of luck!

Sunday’s schedule of play consists of the 8 THIRD ROUND MATCHES FROM THE BOTTOM half of the men’s draw:

(8)Tommy Robredo (ESP) vs Ernests Gulbis (LAT)
(17)Carlos Moya (ESP) vs Philipp Kohlschreiber (GER)
Agustin Calleri (ARG) vs (23)Juan Monaco (ARG)
Juan Martin Del Potro (ARG) vs (3)Novak Djokovic (SRB)

Robby Ginepri (USA) vs Stanislas Wawrinka (SUI)
(20)Juan Ignacio Chela (ARG) vs (12)Ivan Ljubicic (CRO)
(15)David Ferrer (ESP) vs (24)David Nalbandian (ARG)
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) vs (2)Rafael Nadal (ESP)

I'll go with the most obvious one: Tommy Robredo, please

When I made my Day 6 pick I didn't realize I was going to have to wait it out all day.

Perhaps I shoud've read my own OOP.

I'll worry about this pick if I'm still around in a few hours.

Affter my spiel earlier, I've come to my senses. I think Ljubicic will beat Chela, but it doesn't make sense for me to pick Ivan. I've already picked Tsonga and Ginepri from the "bottom half" of the "bottom half," so if I add Ljubo to the list, I'm wearing my options thin later on.

As much as I like Ernests Gulbis, I'm going against him Sunday. Give me TOMMY ROBREDO.

You know- with everything else being equal, it looks like Robredo is the "safest" pick, and Moya's the most "logical" one. But a quick glance at some head-to-head records reveals that Ljubicic is 6-0 against Chela (including a straight set win in Miami this year). So as shaky as Ivan seems to be these days, it appears that the draw gods have granted him someone even shakier.

Granted, I'm not exactly comfortable with picking Ljubicic... but then again, when is one ever comfortable with picking anybody in these things?

Patty Schnyder made me suffer today in the women's pool.
Hopefully I will have better luck tomorrow with Tommy Robredo.
Vamos Tommy!

Sorry, but I have changed my mind: Calleri, please.

To make it official: Dry has kind of gotten me thinking about my choice. Calleri seems like a suicide choice, but on the other hand his record against Monaco together with the fact that all of Monaco's good results this year have come on clay plus the fact that the winner will probably play Djokovic has made me switch to Calleri.

So, Caleri for me please.
