View Full Version : Men's Day 10 (Wed) Picks - RGSP

06-05-2007, 10:32 AM
Congratulations and Welcome to Day 10 (Wednesday) of the French Open Suicide Pool. 22 contestants remain.

It's getting down to the wire and Day 10 features only 2 quarterfinal matches from the BOTTOM half of the Menís draw.

Remember, once you have selected a player, you cannot use them again. Be sure to consult the Picks and Results thread to make sure your choice is not one you used before (a duplicate choice results in your elimination).

Your choices are due by the start of play on Wednesday, June 6, 12:00 p.m. Paris Time (6:00 a.m. USA Eastern Time, 3:00 a.m. US West Coast time).

Good luck, everyone!

Novak Djokovic (SRB)[6] vs. Igor Andreev (RUS)
Carlos Moya (ESP)[23] vs. Rafael Nadal (ESP)[2]

Are upsets brewing? ;)

I always had planned to make this pick here...now that I find out I'm the only one with Moya left, I'm doubly excited to make it - now I don't have to worry about the other match - in fact I'll cheer Moya so I'd be the last one with a chance to beat the draw.

My pick is Novak Djokovic (SRB)

Are upsets brewing? ;)

We will have one Nadal pick for sure (kabouter) - wonder if anyone else will take him now?

I'm 100% sure no one is taking Moya this round since I'm the only one who can...and I didn't!

06-05-2007, 10:47 AM
Novak Djokovic for me as well.

06-05-2007, 10:49 AM
Novak Djokovic, please.

06-05-2007, 10:52 AM
Novak Djokovic, please

The only reason to take Nadal now is if someone thinks Djokovic is going to the final. I have flirted with the possibility.

But, I am sticking to the plan:

Novak Djokovic please!

Novak Djokovic! The Davy train came in to town, now it's time for Nole to take Andreev to the woodshed for a beatin', followed by the hardest pick of all... The semi-final final duo between Fed and Nadal.

06-05-2007, 12:43 PM
Uh, make that Andreev, saving Nadal.

06-05-2007, 01:14 PM
(Praying to the upset gods...)

Igor Andreev

06-05-2007, 01:16 PM
If Andreev pulls it off, only you and wtwalsh can beat the draw...the difference is you'll still have Nadal!

06-05-2007, 01:57 PM
Novak Djokovic, although andreev has been really impressive.

06-05-2007, 02:08 PM
Novak Djokovic

06-05-2007, 02:26 PM
Nadal or Andreev? My only two choices, with no hope of making the final, but maybe iGOR ANdreev can perform another miracle and get me through at least to the next day, so I pick:

I honestly wasn't expecting to have to make this pick, what with the Davydenko/Canas head-to-head being what it was, so I'm just gonna pick and run.

Novak Djokovic please.

I'm just a little more confident today than I was with Nikolay yesterday, but I'm nervous nonetheless...

Novak Djokovic please!

It's nice to be here at this stage, cuz I'm carrying a lot of points from last year's Wimby and a better total than last year's RG can't hurt.

Novak Djokovic (SRB)[6]

06-05-2007, 04:38 PM
i'm gonna go with djokovic as well. i just don't think andreev has it in him to win the match. he really hasn't made a miracle run, after roddick, that section was wide open. baghdatis was a decent victory, but baghdatis is streaky. so i'm definitely feeling djokovic here.

My last pick in the men's SP! Nadal it is then. Good luck to all of you who are going on to the semi's

Thankfully Davydenko won yesterday. I thought he was going to choke it away when he was trying to serve it out, but he kept going for his shots so way to go Davy. Now give me Novak Djokovic. I wish I didn't still have Andreev as well, but Djokovic did beat him already this year.

So far:

14 Djokovic
3 Andreev (only one person who still had Djokovic as a choice)
2 Nadal

3 still to come, and I would be surprised if it wasn't 3 Djokovic picks.

06-05-2007, 08:36 PM
Novak D.

Although I kind of think he can upset Nadal, that's one I wouldn't mind being knocked out on...

06-05-2007, 09:39 PM
Well, I've still got Djokovic as an option, but I'm going to go out on a limb here.

Igor Andreev for me, please.

06-05-2007, 10:23 PM
That makes 15 Djokovics, and 4 Andreevs - Two of whom had Djoko left. Wow!
Well, we'll lose at least 4 tomorrow... Here's hoping Djoko makes it through.

Looks like there is one edit.

I have 15 Djokovic's, 5 Andreev's and 1 Nadal. One left to pick.

One left to pick, and it would be... me I supose:)
This makes me very very nervous today, but anyway, I'll stick to my original plan and pick Djokovic

Ajde Nole!
