Congratulations and Welcome to Day 9 (Tuesday) of the French Open Suicide Pool. 25 contestants remain.

It's getting very tough now as Day 9 features only 2 quarterfinal matches from the TOP half of the Men’s draw.

Remember, once you have selected a player, you cannot use them again. Be sure to consult the Picks and Results thread to make sure your choice is not one you used before (a duplicate choice results in your elimination).

Your choices are due by the start of play on Tuesday, June 5, 12:00 p.m. Paris Time (6:00 a.m. USA Eastern Time, 3:00 a.m. US West Coast time).

Good luck, everyone!

Roger Federer (SUI)[1] vs. Tommy Robredo (ESP)[9]
Nikolay Davydenko (RUS)[4] vs. Guillermo Canas (ARG)[19]

Ugh - I have "The Choice". I will go with my gut, God help me, and choose:

Davydenko

I'm so happy to be able to perform my planned choreography for the rest, results willing.

Davydenko for me.

I'm actually glad I already used Canas just so I don't have to stress over this.

Everything's worked out perfectly so far...although I have exactly 4 left I can use so I need the tournament to go perfectly for me the rest of the way. Gotta save Federer so that means I choose:

Davydenko

I wish I had Canas still left to pick, but since I don't, I'll have to go with Davydenko. I'm tempted to pick Federrer just to stay alive and be able to make a pick from the bottom quarters (where I plotted things out much better).

Again, long post made short: Davydenko, please.

I get the feeling I am marching to the gallows for a crime I didn't realise I was committing at the time. Nevertheless:

Nikolay Davydenko.

Kolya if you do this for me I will fund the Kolya the Obscure movie out of my own pocket.

Urgh, I'm trapped! I have a feeling Canas will win, but already used him two rounds ago. I believe Federer has a good chance to win the whole thing, therefore I want to save him to that last match. So, that leaves me with:

NICOLAY DAVYDENKO please :)

The chips are down for most of us -
I'll be hopping on the Kolya the obscure bandwagon.. I don't think Willy will phase him, the only real possibility might be wearing him down.

Davydenko, please.

(Rob)Red(o) with embarrassment, I Can as of now do nothing but wail (Nik) 'olay!', and hear it enkoing around the Swiss Alps like the theme from Tommy, for I can do naught in this half but say Roger and out. So, sorrowfully, I pick:

ROGER FEDERER!

All this despair over Davydenko makes me question my delight over being able to pick him as planned. Chins up, Kolya bandwagoners!

I feel bad about this one too. I have a feeling Canas is playing better but prove me wrong Davydenko because I've already played the Canas card against Monaco. Give me Davydenko.
