Welcome to Day 3 (Wednesday) of the French Open Suicide Pool. Day 3 features 16 matches from the TOP half of the Mens draw.

Remember, once you have selected a player, you cannot use them again. Be sure to consult the Picks and choices thread to make sure your choice is not one you used before (a duplicate choice results in your elimination).

Your choices are due by the start of play on Wednesday, May 30, 11:00 a.m. Paris Time (5:00 a.m. USA Eastern Time, 2:00 a.m. US West Coast time).

Good luck, everyone!

Ah but Martina isn't competing, she is coaching and supporting, perhaps that means all the venom is directed at the opponents.

Hmmm, is it too early to be thinking about strategy?! All of the key matches could produce someone to go all the way to the quarter's (when upsets are factored in).

Thus, I'm going to pick:

Mikhail Youzhny

He's too good to waste at this time, but I'm going to cheer on Jan Carlos (which makes me think that I should pick him (but can't do it)), because then I would never have picked from that match-up. Then Rog can make the world sunny by crushing the winner!

None of this matters, as Mr Youzhny will now lose without a fuss! Isn't it good to have plans!

Just thought I'd post a little total-ing... This is from the start of the thread, so some of these people may have or will go out (Mr. Moya's got a lot of people a bit worried ;)), but here goes.

Interestingly, Mr. Robredo had a commanding lead in picks (5 or 6) until the last two pages. I guess people who pick Disco Tommy don't stay up late!

Juan Carlos Ferrero 18
Radek Stepanek 18
Tommy Robredo 18
Potito Starace 10
Nicolas Almagro 9
Marat Safin 6
Mikhail Youzhny 5
David Nalbandian 3
Filippo Volandri 3
Guillermo Canas 3
Juan Ignacio Chela 3
Richard Gasquet 3
Martin Vassallo Arguello
(Alphabetised, even!)

Hmmmm...
I would like to change my pick (we can do that, I hope - sorry for the trouble) from Nicolas Almagro to Tommy Robredo. That changes the totals, and I've adjusted accordingly. (I'll also post that again in a new post, just to make clear. ;))
