So far, the US spanked Austria 6-2

So, we had a super-active cricket thread, but no one gives a crap about hockey.

TAT should be up for sociological studies.

Well I just found out today, that Ireland have an ice hockey team, and we just won promotion from division 3 to division 2 - I presume these are divisions of some european league, lol.

OK - congrats to Canada for fielding the winning team and carting off their third World Championship in the last 5 years.

But the real question is when the World's will be moved to a time when the actual best players in the World can compete. With the globalization of NHL players, the best players are still in North America competing for the Stanley Cup at this time, and the World teams are typically comprised of NHL losers.

Not a surprise that no one pays much attention to the event.

Well, Russia flew in some NHL-ers for the latter stages of the championships. Didn't help. Yeah, I don't understand the scheduling
