Hey everybody -

Bonjour and Bienvenue! Saperlipopette ... it's RG Eve, and I'm just posting this thread now. Just checked the Skan and there are 53 teams already in the mix, with basically no promo. Very nice!

But it's not too late to enter, so go here and put in your team ...

Sacre Bleu ... that includes me! Better get to it.

Au Revoir for now!

My wife woke me up when she got home from work, just in time for me to enter all the contests...I'll have to share all my winnings with her ;)

Final tally = 70 teams. Nice job, everyone.

Somebody actually picked the hapless Kerber. Has there ever been a worse #1? Well, I suppose she at least has slams to her credit, but good grief, what a head case.

Then again, I shouldn't be so critical, having bombed out of the women's suicide pool courtesy of Lucic-Baloney!

Sorry to have missed this contest - Oz was fun. I missed the bracket, too - must get my ducks in row for Wimbledon. Best of luck to everyone!

Well, Konta's first round loss has severely impacted my chances in this RG Skan.

Me too ... + I had Zverev. Ugh

Congratulations to RandomSkan for making it to the top of the second tier, besting myself and many other players with a lineup that has the potential for some serious points. It's always heartening to see players who struggle at first persevere and keep trying. Good luck Randy, may the dice be with you!

The top half of the men's draw is going to have a huge impact on this contest. With Nadal, Djokovic, and Thiem on the bottom half, there was already a discrepancy in the picks (118 picks for bottom half, 89 picks for the top half). With Zverev out, and he was on a whopping 44 teams, the difference is now 114/45. There are a ton of insane things likely to happen in the women's draw, but I'm thinking there's a good chance the eventual winner will be the person who correctly chose the top half finalist.

Those left:

23 Wawrinka
6 Tsonga
5 Nishikori
4 Del Potro
3 Murray
1 Cilic, Ferrer, Cuevas, Kyrgios

With the Tsonga defeat, Round 1 of the 2017 RG Skan is in the bag. Sphrontanacier leads the pack with 286 points, a 7-point lead over Pingpong0_, with JazzNU sitting a further point back in third. The leading team, Terre gagnante, comprises

1. Nadal
2. Halep
3. Muguruza
4. Thiem
5. Pavlyuchenkova
6. Goffin

55 teams lost at least 1 player in R1 [with 1 contestant mistaking this for You Can't Win Jack and losing 5 of 6]. This leaves 15 teams through R1 fully intact:

Sphrontanacier
PingPong0_
JazzNU
MunchmaQuchi
TERRASTAR18
Borenore2
Zvezda_red
Charlie02123
Pandacris

JazzNU's Wildcats snags the yellow jersey after Round 2 ... especially impressive having already lost a player. The leading team comprises

1. Nadal
2. Cilic
3. Thiem
4. Halep
5. Venus
6. Cibulkova

Meanwhile, the number of intact teams has dwindled to the following 8 contestants:

LaughingCavalier
Pingpong0_
Zvezda_red
Brens
TERRASTAR18
Pandacris
Pazo77
Charlie02123

Full R2 standings to come. In the meantime, keep safe and watch out for tarps in your area ...

For some reason - I thought there was another day of Round 4 Action. Not so, so here we go /// with the R4 results. Pandacris surges to the lead as a result of being the only contestant with all 6 players surviving through the 4th round, which is really quite remarkable. Pandacris' full team comprises:

1. Nadal
2. Halep
3. Wawrinka
4. Pliskova
5. Mladenovic
6. Nishikori

Earlier I had remarked on how JazzNU was competing strongly despite having lost a player, due to very high domination points. So I took a look at the data to see what was behind this. Turns out JazzNu is the only contestant to have picked Cilic, and placed high up in the #2 seeding. That's be4en the difference for JazzNU. Well played!

Quarterfinals are done, and Pandacris has widened the lead ... substantially, and with four of the semi-finalists in hand will be tough to catch.

I can't read today's standings, but I'm in Tier 1 as of last time so I'll take it! Beginner's luck. I'm sure to be bottom of the barrel next GS.

Yeah - I don't know why my pic uploads are not posting right. They show up when I first post, then disappear. Then they come back when I reinsert them in edit mode. Well, at least I can see the tables but not sure if anyone else can.
