Congratulations to ptmcmahon, who is in first place. He had five of the six winners on his team (nobody had Raonic).
Miles came in second, and Jeff in TX came in third.

Wow, those are some big numbers.

Bad week to miss out on trading.

Wow, those are some big numbers.

Bad week to miss out on trading.

I am not expecting large numbers this week. The high scoring teams were aimed at the first week's tournaments. With most of the first week winners taking a week off before the Australian open, the second week winners are likely to be a totally different set of people. To a certain extent, I think the teams that will do best the second week will be the teams that managed to avoid the withdraws (a lot like the first week). A fair portion of the trades this week are trading in people who have withdrawn. I managed to trade in someone I already knew had withdrawn. :p:rolleyes:
So, the damage of not trading is smaller than you might think.

ptmcmahon
01-10-2016, 04:38 PM
That's why I made sure to trade in someone who took a WC to a tournament...slightly less likely to withdraw. My big week 1 numbers came from having every winner... except the Canadian :) Reverse bias this week I guess.

The funny thing is I thought i was building towards a strong week 2 team just needing a WTA trade to top it off. I missed the WDs in week one and had a couple this week already, and then traded in an ATP player instead. Funny how quickly plans can change.

I managed to have missed the fact that Hsieh made it to the second round. So, if you have Hsieh on your first week team, you now have 45 more points than initially reported.

The high scorers for week two are partrick, tenedab, and Ribbons. Patrick's score was enough to put him in the overall lead, by a mear 20 points over ptmcmahon. Tenedab is in third, trailing ptmcmahon by only 100 points.

There are still a lot of points to be earned at the Australian Open, so none of the medals are locked up yet.

I'm really excited to be in 10th place. My dream of a top 20 finish is alive and well. GH

Patrick vs Patrick for third! must go see who he has on his team (and how does Omegadoom have 6 people left? ) :) ... after checking...go Serena!

If I don't medal it will be because of trading out Fed instead of Stan - otherwise I'd have Patrick covered.

While the leads of Omegadoom and tenedab might look very large, each pick winning a match from here on out is worth about 600 points. So, Omegadoom is only leading the pack by one-to-two wins, and tenedab is leading the Patricks by only one win. In spite of the initial impression, we actually have a fair number of people within medal contention.

ptmcmahon

That Kerber pick might be good enough to medal for Ribbons. Meanwhile somehow I am reliant on a not heavily selected Serena.

Kudos to Ribbons, who has all four finalists on her team. However, she will need Angelique Kerber to beat Serena to win the gold medal.
The actual medalist are set, but the final order is still up for grabs.

Thanks, Jeff in TX!!!! Someday.....someday..... But really, this is easily my best finish in one of these lead-up-season contests. So maybe I'm learning something. I remember a time that I finished dead last a couple of times in a row on these.

Congrats to the winners. You did great!!! GH
