Hi all -

Sorry for being so late posting up the first SKAN of 2015. I've been preoccupied with some serious personal matters that came crashing down on me like a load of bricks.

Anyway, the folks hosting the SKAN have got everything all up and running, and I see there are already over 60 teams in the mix. I'm hoping the fine posters here at TAT will take up the challenge and enter the contest. Prize is available to the winner as usual.

If you're not a member of the host site and prefer not to be, you can list your teams here and they will be entered on your behalf. This is a new provision Ace has set up. If you are a member, it would be helpful if you entered your own team. Thanks, and here's the link to the entry - with thanks to the TAT staff for being so gracious in letting me promote the SKAN here -

best wishes to all contestants.

Newcomers are always welcome. The scoring gets a little complicated, but the entry process is pretty straightforward. Here's the short version:

1. The contest winner will be the poster whose registered team earns the highest number of points as of the conclusion of the tournament.

2. Valid entries consist of a team of 6 players [3 men and 3 women] all of whom must be included in the official tournament draw.

3. The sum total of the Player Numbers must be no less than 30.
We will assign unique high numbers to unlisted players for the purpose of this contest. Leave the seeding blank if the player is not already in the combobox.

4. The order of your 6-named players is the most important factor in compiling your team. It represents the seeding of your players for purposes of earning domination points.

Hi Peter,

This is kind of an awkward message to send, but the post for AOSkan 2015 says that a prize is available to the winner as usual. Was there a prize for the 2014 USOSkan because I never received one? No worries if there wasn't, I just wanted to make sure I didn't forget to do something I needed to do to get the prize. Looking forward to competing in the contests this year, and thanks again for running them!

Absolutely I have a prize for you ... but I was waiting for you to pm me an address that I could send it to. I don't recall seeing it. Just send it here via TAT and I'll get it out to you straight away.

It's been a very long time since I've played this, but I'm in again. Left out both #1 players which is either smart or not...

I just tried sending it but i got a message saying you've exceeded your quota for messages. Is there somewhere else I can send it to?

You're right. I haven't checked my PMs in ages, and I'm over the limit. Give me a day or two and I'll clean that out and then get a hold of you so we can take care of this that way. Thanks for your patience.

I'm in it to win it!

bump for 98 teams, only 2 needed to hit the century mark = :)

And RandomSkan makes 100. Make sure you get yours in before it's too late. We must be getting close

Wow! Is this a record? I thought 50ish was the norm.

01-18-2015, 10:32 PM
When I signed up there was already over 50 and that was before there were any TATers.

This isn't the record - we've had over 100 once or twice before. I'll have to check my records but I think the record is 111.

Good turnout! It's the most I've seen since I started playing the Skan.

Good luck TaTers! I'm the same guy here as I am over there. (slightly abrasive and goofy)

Patrick misses out on first by a measly 7 points...probably from having Maria #2 and Serena #3.

Yep. If Sharapova would have forced a 3rd set, I would have probably won. Also a 6-4,7-6 would have given me the title.
