Since the contest covers tournaments all around the world, where better to wait between flights to our next destination than the VIP Lounge.

While here feel free to talk about your 12-woman team... Drink off a shameful selection... Talk trash about your team (but not TOO much )... Interact with other contest participants... and etc....

And remember, the juke box from hell will travel to each tournament site, so don't forget to use it!

Have fun!

Thanks for the counts! I meant to count myself last night but fell asleep, but you gave a much better recap than I would have :)

I was worried when almost everyone but me took Svitolina...so I'm not sad she's out. I also didn't take Bouchard (despite her being my avatar) but if she does well I'll be ok with that. I'm surprised only two of us took Petkovic. I also am the only person who took a couple people...but they are only playing once so I'm not surprised. With Serena I figured I'd be trading her in next week anyway so might as well just start with her.

Hi everyone. Here are some mid-week scores with Dubai at the QFs, and Rio with half of their QFs. These points reflect up to the minute, so players like Errani, Vinci, and Schmiedlova still have R16 points on these totals.

Congrats to Ptmcmahon for opening up a nice lead (but not as much as I first posted) and having 5 players left still.

434- Ptmcmahon (Wozniacki, Safarova, Pliskova, Vinci, Schmiedlova)
389- Patrick (Wozniacki, Errani, Safarova)
383- Drop-shot (Halep, Errani, Pliskova, Vinci)

336- Miles (Halep, Errani, Muguruza, Vinci)
322- Tenedab (Errani, Muguruza, Begu)
320- Daveg (Halep, Errani, Begu, Vinci)
307- Ribbons (Errani, Safarova, CSN, Begu)
304- Lukeorion (Wozniacki, Errani, Vinci, Schmiedlova)
296- Omegadoom (Wozniacki, Errani, Safarova, Begu, Vinci)

Lots of change this week so far at the QFs. E11even and Ptmcmahon have surged into the top 2 spots and both are still in great shape each having 5 players left. Lukeorion has also made a nice move up the leaderboard with 5 players left too. But watch out for Ribbons who has jumped from 13th to 8th and still has 6 players remaining. Well done!

Hey, you don't get to be upset about anything this week - you have two finalists and are moving up the standings - you could be in the top three at the end of the week - I am out of players for the week and am falling from 4th to at least 8th and maybe lower - if you look at my predictions I thought Sharapova would pull out before the quarters - which is one reason I didn't trade for her so when she actually played and one her quarter I thought for sure that I was screwed - I'll have to pull a Ribbons next week in order to win this contest. :cheesy:

Looking at the teams currently...very few have all three A players. Lukeorion looks like he has all three plus a couple B women to boot. It may be too big a hill to climb but could make a huge comeback chance interesting at least.

If all the A women flame out as they have mostly been doing waylandboy may be a dark horse with a couple B players in there as well.

With these draws of course...don't be surprised if a C or D lister goes on a run and gets a couple people medals.

Ayup. I'm going to kick myself if Krunic goes further than Wozniacki, but even I am not reckless enough to trade for someone who just got thumped by Larsson.

Then again, Larsson's having a nice run of losing to eventual champions. Hmm....

EDIT: Mea Culpa! We're at the QFs for Monterrey and the SFs for Kuala Lumpur. The medals are still yet to be decided, so plenty of points left in play. E11even is making a nice final week push for the title, but Ribbons has now surged to the lead spot. Ribbons is in prime position now to take home the title, barring some late Rybarikova-Mladenovic magic by E11even.

If my math is right...and it probably isn't...the medalists and positions have been decided. Drop-shot also has Bascinky so I'm confident enough to say I'm pretty sure he has second wrapped up.
