Lament your losers, celebrate your winners... Share an excerpt from your personal Jukebox From Hell... You can do it all here. :)

But as a tribute to past Australian Open suicide pool killers, let's pay some homage to the Bondarenko sisters with a little Kylie Minogue...

One Rybarikova picker bests two Konjuh pickers. I feel somewhat responsible for this by having Konjuh on my AMiTS team.

Well that was fast. I could go either way on Riske, but I'll surely stay away from her for quite a while after this showing. I'm getting to the point where I don't want to choose an American not named Williams.

To your point, Crampy McHale might be taking out a few more soon if she can't get it together against Foretz, whose glasses make her look like one of the three blind mice.

Sheesh I haven't done SP in about two years and I get knocked out on day one on the women's side. I can't believe how many of the women's seed fell today. The shock for me Ivanovic.

I think my husband Motobass and I have gone out in the women's on Day 1 for the last 3 slams?!! From now on, we will post early so people can avoid at least two doomed players. In the meantime, an Old Style for me (must be punished for Risky pick) and a Spanish Raindrop for my partner.

Alison Riske lost to someone named Ocean? Never again, Alison! I always go with Pavlyuchenkova in round one but decided to go wild this time. I was so puffed up when Pav lost, thinking I was a genius.

Well, Dellaqua and Bautista Agut kick me out on the same day, with identical 6-1's in the final set. A great effort from both players. Then again, I should not have picked against a lefty who has a a win against Rodddick at the USO, using a Spaniard who is about to feel the pressure of defending a whole lot of points this year.
One Forsters and some Rioja. Bad start to the year.

Against my usual instincts, I went for the big-serving, terrible-returning Americans today - Isner and Vandeweghe. Never again - I'm going to stick to actual tennis players from now on.

skatingfan
01-24-2015, 05:16 AM
Oh well, down with the Isner - was it a train wreck or a mass suicide - not sure - haven't made it this far in a suicide pool for a while and the stress of having to wake up every morning and checking to see whether I survived the night, well I tell you, I was losing sleep, haven't been able to eat, and I think my hair is falling out.

pfft, Isner.

When my pick is out, I like to look for a drink from their homeland. So I'll have a Charon Stout from Full Moon Brewery in North Carolina. I'd also like to hang a full moon at John for losing to someone he'd beaten all 3 times they played previously.

Anyone want to be nice and allow me to still post my pick for Day 8? It's Nishikori :). Look at the time stamp it's before any of the four men's matches have started.

Sorry it was a hectic day and I completely forgot about my pick.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't be fair to all the other no-picks this event - two of which were in the thread at closing, but just didn't make it.

Well, the positive outcome here is that I've learned the Romanians took one of my favorite things - raspberries - and made it into a brandy.

So, I'd like to order some zmeurata. Then I'd like to repeatedly throw shots of it into the faces of Halep and her multiple coaches.

Dry, I thinks this is your favourite part of the job-glorying in other's failures!

I was thinking of ordering slivovitz (East European plum brandy), but mmmm8's zmeurata idea sounds even better. A round for the house!
