I actually still hold a place in my heart for her because she was always such a reliable early round pick as she was working her way up the ranks. Maybe she'll be that for us again!

PLEASE!!!!! put all of us Kanepi players in the Loser's Lounge. Immediately. That was pathetic. (What is somehow even more pathetic is I watched much of this atrocity.) We do not belong in this contest- or any contest for that matter- anymore. Or ever again. BTW, Kanepi had a 3rd set lead at 4-1, 15-40. At which point, of course her strategy became, hit error after error, alternating with hitting the ball back helpfully to her opponent. Please also note that Kanepi was playing against an opponent who before the 3rd set began was seen by the trainer, so her upper leg could be all Frankenstein bandaged up. Somehow Kanepi accidentally held her last two service games. Somewhere even Kvitova had to be blushing.

I feel better about Safarova going out now that Jankovic lost. I don't typically follow SP after I've gone out but will this time. I didn't choose several players because I knew I'd need them later on such as Bartoli and also Makarova, if she survived, in particular, also why I didn't go with Jankovic or Cirstea, seems even truer now. It'll be very interesting to see who people can ride into the next rounds cause I think those that survived lost the more solid picks and this will get extremely interesting in another 2 days especially.

Yeah, the bottom half of the draw is a mess. Flipkens and Bartoli SEEM like they have clear paths forward, Sloane if she can get past Cetkovska and Makarova if she can get past Kvitova (and vice versa). Bouchard and Puig may play spoilers, I hate picking against young up and comers because you never know when they're going to decide to have their breakout slam.

Top half isn't much better though. Aga's quarter is a nightmare. Keys, Barthel, Pironkova, Pliskova, Martic, I wouldn't be surprised if any of these people made the quarters. I don't have the balls to pick Vesnina-Lisicki or Li-Halep. It'll be in an interesting QF lineup from top to bottom.

LOL. I don't think Halep in the semis is too crazy, especially if she takes out Li (who has done surprisingly bad here the last few years). Right now, I'm thinking Pironkova to make her second Wimbledon semi, but that's probably due to how both Halep and Pironkova played during their first round matches. I'm also biased because I like Pironkova.

I think if Makarova and Bartel can get out of their own ways, they'll have a great tournament. Especially Makarova as she always should have done better here but doesn't. I thought before Wimbledon started that Pironkova would make at least the QFs this year, that obviously hasn't changed a bit given everything. And I had Bartoli in the semis in my bracket, doesn't seem nearly as implausible now. I also have Puig into the 4th round.

And I definitely think watch out for Martic. I have no idea what happened to her in the last year or so, but she was coming on strong for a while there last year. Maybe she can reverse things here.
