Maybe I jinxed Ferrer/Aggie by already posting my trading of them out for next week...sorry...

Dry,

ADAM is not dead. It has simply been altered where your name has been replaced with Drop-shots name, since hes #2 in the medal count now. Why settle for Vice-President of DOMA, when you could be the President of the new and improved ADAM? Turn around would be fair play, since it was Drop who used the original ADAM to overtake you in medals.

Also, the ground work has begun on a new organization called SPAM (Stop Patrick Acquiring Medals), since hes been quietly flying under the radar in his quest to hoard medals.

I was tempted to keep Murray instead of Nadal, but I ultimately traded in Nadal because so many teams had him. I needed to keep my team fairly similar to others.

Once again, trades for this contest are turning into a huge jinx (glad I didn't trade for him.)

6 people added Rafa. 5 people got rid of Federer and none added (and two people did a direct Federer for Nadal move.) Anyone who "held onto" Federer from the start is probably a lot happier today.

But if you're coming from behind, having players everyone above you has doesn't do you any good. You have to get creative, which usually doesn't work either. But that's only way to play the math and the points at this point in the contest.

No, no projecting at all. Those who won today (and yesterday) have earned 720 points, while the losers today should have 360 points. Let's start there. Is that what you have?

Then the winners Thursday and Friday will get 1400 points, and then the winners Saturday and Sunday will get 2000.

No dispute there. I"m just wondering how you arrived at 6,745 points for pt. I'm tracking the point totals in real-time and I have him at 3,865 points, with 4 players still playing. TOTAL: 1765

WTA
Flipkens 720
U Radwanska 45

Okay, now I see what you're doing and how we're different. You're assigning the winners the minimum number of points they can theoretically win, while I'm waiting until they lose and then adding their points. That solves that mystery! :)

You know what we need? Real-time scoring provided by one of those online fantasy sports websites. I used to play fantasy football, and that was so fun to check my point totals in near real-time. I'm sure you guys have looked into something like this before.

Ah! And that's a perfectly viable way to score it. But if you're going to update folks on scores along the way (this was the first time I've done that for this particular contest), they're going to want it to include their players who won today (and yesterday in this case).

If you're not going to report specific scores along the way during an event, then the way you're doing it is just fine.

Yep, totally agree. Glad we got it figured out. :)

Me, too. The way you're doing it is less work. The way I do it increases the opportunity for error, but I'm a contest whore, so I like to know exactly where I am. ;)

Meanwhile, I've sunk to a contest whore who mirrors the 80-something sister prostitutes in the Netherlands who retired recently. :(

Congratulations to ptmcmahon on winning the Green Acres gold medal - Murray & Djokovic on your team is great and Lisicki given her record at Wimbledon but why did you put Flipkens as well - others have her as well - never would have thought she would have made the semis but what a great choice.

See PtMcMahon got the gold but the other 2 medals are up for grabs.

Looks like they could be decided in the women's semis tomorrow if only one of Flipkens & Lisicki makes the final.

For what it's worth my calculated total for me is 6745 as well...so seems like numbers are adding up right.

Thanks! I remember Flipkens doing well at AO this year and that was part of it...but it was largely because she was playing both weeks before Wimbledon. That was the same thing that almost scared me out of taking Lisicki though. I liked her week one draw and her Wimbledon history and decided to keep her.

I don't know why everyone is saying Wimbledon is so unpredictable...I could have all four finalists possibly....totally what I was expecting of course. Just added Serena because everyone else was gonna have her and wanted to be safe "just in case" ;)

I think I'm done with Flipkens losing. Maybe if Lisicki loses and Nole too I might have a chance...

Yup, I think the Flipkens loss and the Lisicki win have wrapped up the medals in this competition but I will wait for official standings.

Didn't expect I had a chance before today, but I understand I'm also out of medal contention now. Would just hate to finish fourth! :hammerself:

Nonetheless, this has been a fantastic tourney for ptmcmahon! Kudos!
