I'm having a terrible time getting PMs to send. Often times I receive an error page and the PMs rarely go through.

Are others having this same trouble?

I was unable to send one to you. It just stopped when I pressed to send. Looked like it was trying, but didn't send.

Exactly. That's happening to me too, and a few other members I know of. Thanks for the verification.

So, my pms went through to you but when? And then I tried to respond, and after a long delay, get:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@talkabouttennis.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/2.0.64 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.64 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_fcgid/2.3.6 Server at www.talkabouttennis.com Port 80

But, then it looks like it went through. Confused.

Most recent pm went through a bit better. Only a slight delay.

Yeah, there's definitely something bad going on. It seems to be related to the recipient. I can send to you without a problem. But I can't get a PM through to morct to save my life (except they do go through but I still receive that error -- it turns out I'd sent her the same PM 8 times).

I've checked the error logs and can't find a clue as to what's happening.

I have a question posted about it on the vBulletin support forum. If I can't get any love from them I'll contact our server support and see if they can figure it out. I'm usually pretty good at troubleshooting stuff, but this has me stumped.

I've used them with no problems including last week.

Scratch that, I just got internal error when sending Ti a PM.

Even though I got that message, the PM went through.

I'm jealous so many people have blossoming PM lives.

I just sent Charlie a PM not to be so needy. It didn't go through. ;)

I'm shutting the forum down this Friday night to do some work on the database in an attempt to fix this problem we're having with PMs.

If that doesn't do the trick I'm going to have to shut off all of our extra stuff for a few days (Arcade, Awards, RPBs, Chat, etc.). I have to figure out what the problem is... I don't know what, if any, other things it could be affecting.

Just FYI for you guys.

Gasp! For a second I got real excited that I had a PM waiting for me.

(Buh-zing, though. Nicely done.)

I've done what I wanted to do during maintenance to try and fix this problem. I'm going to do a few tests tonight myself, but I'd appreciate it if anyone could post any feedback you have also. :)

OK. I was able to reply without error to a PM that before wouldn't go through. Can anyone verify that they're able to do the same?

Worked fine for me!
