It's not every day at TAT that contestants celebrate losses and lament wins. But here's the place to do just that!

So grab a stool at the bar, have a drink, and whine to your heart's content!

I still wonder why the "big" events like Tokyo and Beijing are worth more points in this contest. With stronger fields it should be easier for your players to lose. Seems like these are the ones that should be worth the least :)

And don't worry about me defending my title. I get exactly one medal a year and I already have mine for 2011, so I'll be no threat.

Looks like it is just about deadline time. I posted my team and took a look at the competition. I missed this one last year.

I am totally surprised at the huge variety in teams! When you're picking people to win a lot of teams are fairly similar. This should be a really fun contest! Good luck to all! (but especially me)

Ha! I thought the same thing. :)

Anyhoo, I imagine the early lead will go to one of the handful of TATers who decided to fill up their B category with the top three seeds at Quebec: Hantuchova, Safarova, and Paszek. It'll be a decent boost even if all three make the semis, and it means they have 8/9ish playing this week instead of the average 5/6.

I have 5 in action. Rezai and Dubois did their jobs and lost first round. Pervak and Daniilidou have already won two matches, and Arvidsson took out Bovina (double :(). Hurry up and lose, ladies!

Did anyone manage to get three or four early losers?

Two weeks in and I'm already worried about what to do with my remaining trades. Good points for early exits during the next two tourney's, but then there's the dessert of this meal that is Moscow. Hmmm....

Oploskoffie was very prophetic early on and called his shot well. There has certainly been a shakeup in the standings this week and it appears clear that Oploskoffie will win his record 5th fantasy tennis title. The silver and bronze are still up for grabs. I'm only posting the medal contenders with remaining players but Patrick will post the final scoreboard at the end of the week. Congratulations and good luck!

Oploskoffie- 2800 (Bartoli, Goerges)
Patrick- 2741 (Bartoli, Cibulkova, Goerges)
MysterX- 2719 (Cibulkova, Goerges, Vesnina)
Fiercehart- 2692 (Cibulkova, Safarova, Benesova, Vesnina, Dushevina)
Miles- 2689 (Bartoli, Cibulkova)

Whah?

It cost me a night's sleep not to use my final trade, but I never imagined it working in my favour to this extent. (yes, I nearly traded out a Moscow R1 exit) I am, if nothing else, very surprised!

Bartoli just got people some unexpected points. Will that affect the final standings?

Maybe but we will have to wait until Sunday for the official results.

Kanepi should send me a portion of her winning for resurrecting her crappy career by putting her on my Loser team. Bitch.

Yup...and Domi too. They would never play in a final at a tournament like this if we were getting points for them winning. They just wanted to rub it in a little more.

And you can usually count on Domi for a withdrawal or two during a several-week stretch.

No matter. I'm so out of it I didn't even bother to use my last trade. No use in creating more work for the contest admins.

So do the finals affect the outcome?

EDIT: Looking like a big no.
