Flood of royal wedding smartphone apps hits market
(AP) LONDON — Not feeling the royal wedding spirit yet? It may be time to download a countdown clock to your smartphone

More than a dozen smartphone apps are offering to bring fans everything royal wedding-related wherever they are — so they can check the days and minutes until Prince William and Kate Middleton's April 29 wedding, hoard news and pictures about them and instantly share their favorite royal wedding tidbits on social media networks.

Most of the apps are tailored for iPhones or iPads. Some are fairly informative: There are apps that feature live coverage of the wedding on the day, a weather forecast for London's Westminster Abbey up to 10 days in advance, and royal protocol in case, for whatever reason, you need to greet the queen.

In honor of the big wedding on Friday, Use your royal wedding guest name. Start with either Lord or Lady. Your first name is one of your grandparents' names. Your surname is the name of your first pet, double-barreled with the name of the street you grew up on. Post yours here. Then cut and paste it into your status.

I'm Lord Irvin Shortstuff County Road 14.

Fun! My more boring one would be "Lord John Rex-Gascony".

And since I had two grandfathers, two "first pets" (they were a pair of dogs my parents had already had before I was born), and two streets I grew up on, the less-boring name would be "Lord Marvin Sammy-Couzens".

It was by Sarah Burton from Alexander McQueen. It was rather demure for McQueen.

Loved the top of the dress. The drop at the waist was kind of weird

I know times have changed but at this level of society they haven't changed that rapidly.

First of all the dress is ivory, not white, an acknowledgement of the obvious. Second of all she's not some fairy tale princess wrapped in layers and layers of fabric floating down the aisle to meet her Prince Charming at the altar. They've been together eight years. They know all there is to know about each other.

Middleton presented herself a a mature woman, not a giggling eyes agog girl. She was marrying the man who has been in her life since forever not someone she barely knew. I haven't seen one bit of footage (Joan Rivers has a show tonight on E! that I will watch) but I like that the fairy tale element has been left out.

And yes the dress is quite demure for McQueen.

It was annoying when I wanted to turn on the news to see traffic and weather this morning and could only get the wedding on every broadcast news channel.

The drag name seems a little odd. I don't think it really works all that well.

Especially with the whole gender of the pet thing having been named by my sister when she was very young.

Lord Eugene Princess-Kingsgate (?)

Doesn't help that the next successor maintained the same naming convention: "Duchess (Morgan LeFay)".
Maybe I should go with the first pet I owned on my own... a chinchilla:

Lord Eugene Squeegee-Kingsgate

... nah. :lipsrsealed: Sort of works except for the whole pet thing. Leroy doesn't sound right in that context either.

Crown Princess Victoria looks lovely. Such a stunning woman. Her wedding last year was SO beautiful. I don't think she ever let go of Daniel's hand and both had tears in their eyes during the ceremony. Sigh. I don't know how I ended up watching pretty much all royal weddings of recent years. I had never planned for it, but somehow the hype sucked me in last minute anyway.

Well put Ti! I so wanted this to end so I did not have to hear anymore about it. It reach its boiling point for me when watching the NBA Playoffs on TNT and one of the announcers brought it up and mentioned how much days and hours were left. Meh

Kate is beautiful but not in an absolutely BEAUTIFUL way. She has no ZAP to her, kindly to demure/mousey in a way, but I think she's perfect for William and that if his mother was alive she's be proud of his choice.

The dress had to be demure considering all the English and Westminster Abbey rules LOL. I did not like it at first glance but it grew on me as I saw close ups of it. I hated the veil though.
