After the Querrey and Fish points were added, it became clear that we not one but two front runners! Miles and Omegadoom are nicely ahead of the chasing pack, with under 100 points separating places 3 to 9. Congratulations folks, and onto the second week of Green Acres!

*I've attached a PDF with all the teams and detailed scores. It's been saved in low-qual to make it "light" so some of the lines might look a bit iffy on your screen. :o

And now, the Grand Totals after week 2. Omegadoom and Miles are STILL both in the lead, but after a great week 2, Madame is now only a line of chalkdust behind ;) After that, when you look at the points on offer for Wimbledon, the next 15 or so people are still very much within striking distance, partly depening on this week's trades. Everyone, keep your eyes on your teams, the competition and the Wimby scoreboard. This could be a close one! Will those of us with player(s) left for Newport be the lucky ones?

Post Wimbledon Scores

What do you get when you have Serena, Rafael and Tomas on your GA team? Easy answer: a whopper of a score  It leaves Drop-shot atop this weeks scores, with igorwright a close second. jadesa is the undisputed third highest scorer for Wimbledon. Congrats y'all! :cheesy:

Total scores are underway. Will it all come down to Newport?

Updated total scores

With only one tournament left, it seems Drop-shot is very, very close to winning yet another medal with a somewhat golden look and feel to it!!! There is, however, still plenty to battle for, as the silver and especially the bronze position can still change hands. As it stands, Miles and Omegadoom are the lucky ones.

One person who could still seriously change how things stand at the end is igorwright, who has yet to make a single trade :lipsrsealed:

On that note: good luck to all of you!!!

So this year's lesson learned is "Don't Panic!!!". Before Wimbledon, I was scraping the bottom of the barrel in the standing, so I thought I needed to take some chances on my Wimbledon picks. I had Serena and Venus as sure things for category A, but decided to leave out one of the sisters and take a chance on a long shot from that category. All well and good, but

The Williams sister I left off my roster: Serena

The category A player I put in her place: Sam Stosur

Difference between champion's and first round Losur points: 1990

Place I would be in if I hadn't out-thunk myself: 1

I was just about to do a "....And DON'T listen to folks like mysterX" post re, in my case: Li Na instead of Serena- but, as it turns out, 'tis not a big deal. Having Serena on my list would only have made me a somewhat better loser in this contest. :o

Newport Scores

So: did Newport matter? Drop-shot was quite some way ahead in the total scores after Wimbledon, but some people had the courage/genius/good fortune to have picked/gotten stuck with both Fish and Rochus. Certainly for second and third place, with just 101 points separating Omegadoom, Miles, jadesa, Madame and igorwright, there was all to play for.

Querrey was a popular final pick and, unfortunately, a 20-point dud. Giraldo didn't accomplish much either, going out to Bloomfeld and netting al those with him on their team an equally sad 20 points. In the end, here's how it turned out...

Final Green Acres Scores

What a lovely five weeks :cheesy: So many players played their part, with the early tournament winners and finalists not proving to be the best of bets for Wimbledon glory and Serena and Rafa proving once again why they are #1 in the world. Lots of trades as well, most of them in the name of strategy, not injury replacements. It meant a couple of people personally saw to it that they finished awfully far down from where they could have ended up. Others got lucky, either by willingly not trading, or simply forgetting a deadline. ;)

The end result is as follows: gold goes to Drop-shot! Omegadoom takes the silver, Miles takes the bronze!* Many congratulations to the three of you!! :overhead_clap: Medals will be handed out once the scores have undergone a final check.

A big thank you to everyone else who took part as well! We hope the addition of the ITF juniors for Wimbledon was appreciated and hope you all take part in the next TAT competiton on the agenda: The Hard Road to New York!
