Congratulations, Catz. Nice to see a longtime SP veteran take the title.

Only 1 winner on both the mens and womens side this go round, neither of whom will beat the draw. Wow.

Way to go Catz! Maybe if I go away for 1 to 2 years and come back, I'll be able to win a suicide pool! Congratulations!

Didn't Catz win the Australian Open sp too?

*checks*

She did! Wow! Talk about coming back and dominating!
Very Williams-esque of you.

You have a chance to get the grand slam this year!

BTW, I'd like to switch my username to Csomething[multipleof]33, since this is clearly the best way to achieve SP success!

Winning one is hard enough...but back to back...statistically that's crazy! 315 here and 385 in Australia (divided by the 6 that tied in AO) = 1 in 20212 according to my very scientific method.

(Of course it'd really be more likely then 1 in 20000 since Catz obviously has some kind of secret method.)

Catz's performance is great, but she is still one SP away from the record. Herodotus won three straight back in 2007 (Aussie, French and Wimbledon), but was unable to complete the Grand Slam at the USO.

Thanks everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and lol at this thread. Loved the math stats!

I did spend some time trying to figure out who to pick in the later rounds. I didn't try to predict the draw outright this time though, my ability to do that is unquestionably bad.

It was great to play, no matter how much you think you have it figured out you can get blindsighted at anytime. Hopefully I will beat the draw next time out!

I would love to play in the next Skantest, I didn't have enough time or energy to figure out how to post on that other board. Work has been extremely draining and I find myself tapped out by the time I get home.

And I have to admit I have been entirely depressed by the oil spill. It's a feeling of dread that aches continually.
