The most tournaments Hingis ever played in a calendar year is 20.

There might have been a couple of weeks in her career that she had 21 tournaments showing in the last 52 weeks due to tournament scheduling changes. But she never played 21 tournaments in a calendar year.

And when she played 20 tournaments in 1999 and 2000, she wasn't playing in a bunch of little tournaments either.

In 1999 she played 4 slams, 1 YEC, 9 Tier I tournaments and 6 Tier II tournaments.

In 2000 she played 4 slams, 1 YEC, 7 Tier I tournaments, 7 Tier II tournaments and 1 Tier III tournament (a grass warm up before Wimbledon).
