Greetings, TATers. Welcome (back?) to Green Acres, TAT's annual grasscourt fantasy tennis competition, now into its fourth year!.

Up untill now, we had challenged those taking part to pick a team consisting of six ATP and six WTA players who will play for points in London (twice), Birmingham, Halle, Nottingham, 's-Hertogenbosch, Eastbourne and Newport. Normally that would be no less than six tournaments in total, three of which are joint. This year, however, we are introducing something new!

Green Acres is, for the first time, including the Wimbledon Boy's Singles competition. It's part of TalkAboutTennis.com's dedication to focussing not only on the regular tours, but also on the past, future, physically disabled, and lower-tier compititors on all tours.

Pick your team

You MUST select (in total) twelve players from the ATP and WTA, to be chosen from five categories. Each category contains a segment of the current top-100 ranked players. For the Wimbledon Boy's Junior competition, you can choose any name you want from the tournament's entry list.

A team is made up of thirteen players, six from the ATP, six from the WTA, one ITF junior player (boy).

For the ATP/WTA selection, you need to...

Pick FOUR players from category A,
THREE from category B,
TWO from categories C and D
and ONE from category E.

When complete, a team could look something like this.

Cat-A: Federer, Stosur, Nadal, S. Williams
Cat-B: Kohlschreiber, Kleybanova ,Oudin
Cat-C: Sela, Nieminen
Cat-D: Schnyder, Martic
Cat-E: Fish
ITF: Fucsovics

It is completely up to YOU how you distribute your six ATP and six WTA picks. If you want to fill up the A list with four ATP players, that is your choice/risk. The mission is in finding the right balance

Remember the most important rule! Your team must include six ATP men and six WTA women at all times. If you end up with an inaccurate gender balance as a result of trades (e.g., seven men and five women), you will receive a zero score for the week, and you will be required to expend a trade and correct the gender balance before your team will be eligible the following week.

The Deadline

Your team is due before 7 June 2010, 11.00am London time come rain, shine or men from Mars. You must post your team in the "Post Your Team Here" thread. Any and all entries posted at a later time or in the wrong thread(s) will NOT be accepted.

Trades

The team you choose is supposed to last you the entire four weeks but, should certain players fall (wayyyy) short of expectations, there will be FIVE ATP/WTA trades for you to use to get your team back in contention.

As always, any trades need to be made in the week BEFORE the next tournament starts, otherwise the traded player will not earn points until the tournament after that. There will be a "Trades" thread once the competition has started.

Your ITF Boy's Junior pick is for Wimbledon only and need NOT be traded. You can, however, "change your mind" prior to the start of Wimbledon. As there is currently only an entry list to pick from, things could still change. Just make sure you post any change of name prior to the start of play for Wimbledon 11.00 AM, London time, June 21 2010).

Again, please remember that your team must include six ATP men and six WTA women at all times.

The Points, The Tournaments

For more information on the tournaments and how many points are on offer, go THIS (http://www.talkabouttennis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16949) thread.

And then?

Whatever happens, we can sit down and talk about it in a civilized manner in the "Strawberry Lounge". (http://www.talkabouttennis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16952)

Oh, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask in the "I Have A Question!" thread. You can also just send me a PM if you so desire. I'm usually pretty friendly if the question is answerable...

Best of luck! :)
