Your Day 15 Event is: Men's Curling Final
Your Day 15 pick is due: Saturday Feb. 27, 3:00 PM PST, 6:00 pm. US Eastern time

About the event: Olympic Men's Curling has been called "shuffleboard on Ice" and "chess on ice." There are similarities to shuffleboard and reasons why this game involves chess-like strategy. The game, between two teams of four players, involves sliding polished, flat, heavy granite stones down a lane about 146 to 150 feet in length toward a "bullseye" target. The teams take turns sliding two stones at a time and scoring is based on the number of stones that remain in the "bullseye" target. As is true in shuffleboard, each team tries to knock the opponent's stone or stones out of the target area. Blocking a competitor from knocking your stone or stones out of the target area (also known as "the house") is where the chess-like strategy plays a role. There is another difference. Each team employs two "sweepers." These competitors accompany the stone down the ice and use a "brush" (broom) to sweep the surface in front of the moving stone in order to help direct it toward the target.

The competitiors: Canada vs. Norway
