Here, you can track your progress, your picks, and what everyone else has done. If I have made a mistake, please let me know. We had 389 people start. (Would have been 391, but we had two newcomers unfortunately pick from the wrong half of the men's draw.) Once you are "red", you're "dead":

Had I remembered that Mardy Fish lost in the first round of his last two Wimbledons, I would not have picked him today.

So far, everyone else that I nearly picked (male and female) has lost, along with some that others picked but I didn't because I thought they had another round or two in them...

I assume this is a bad sign for Tammy T... :(

If my calculations are correct we have 390 participants this time (is it a record?).

The two largest bandwagons are exactly the same size:
74 for Mardy Fish (already through) and
74 for Michael Llodra (still waiting for their boy to play)

These are followed by
34 Kohlschreibers (through)
26 for Karlovic
23 for Garcia-Lopez (through)
20 for just simple Lopez (already out, 8:10 in the fifth)
19 for Haas
15 for Sela (through)
13 for Bolelli (down 1:2)
11 for Blake (out)
11 for Robredo
11 for Dancevic
9 for Gicquel (through)
8 for Cilic
8 for Verdasco
7 for Tipsarevic (leading 2:0)
3 for Mahut (down one right now)
3 for Andreas Beck (bet they wish they have chosen Karol instead)
3 for Andreev

Our mens record was 395, Thumm. But 390 is a huge pool, our 2nd largest ever. And we broke the record on the Women's side. So overall, combining mens and ladies, I believe we have our largest game in our 5 year history of suicide pools.

Our very first SP, the Australian in 2004, had 15 players. We let you pick either a mens or a womens match (I don't think we went to separate games til Wimbledon '04). And still, no one got past the first quarterfinal.

A very even distribution today,
with 6 big bandwagons for Stepanek (50), Troicki (49), Davydenko (33), Ferrer (30), Simon (27), and Wawrinka (24);
and a 26-strong "avoid all bandwagons" group which is divided into
8 Ferreros
5 Gonzalezes
5 Hanescus
3 Melzers
and 1 each for Mathieu, Berdych, Levine, Zverev, and Becker.
My calculation sums up to 239, but, as we have decided, a discrepancy of one doesn't count :)

By the way, is it my bitterness because of loosing while everybody is going safely through, or was the men's side kinda too calm, not to say boring, in these last days? I mean, on the ladies' side it's just 55 left...

I clearly made some mistake with the #'s, but I looked at the 55 TATers still in the Women's SP and tracked their performance in the Men's SP.

IMO, Hewitt-Roddick is a safer choice than Nole-Haas, though Haas has gotten this far not because of his superior play but rather his opponents self-destructing at the right moments. For example, Cilic was up a break in the first and was up a break twice in the fifth. He lost both sets.

Yes. More safe, for sure. Not "safe," though. Roddick's won the last four times they played, dropping one set. Also on grass a couple weeks ago. Haas-Djokovic could go either way. Djokovic is a better player right now but Haas just proved he could pull it off. I don't wanna touch that match.

You have a point, but there is another thing to consider. Murray is more likely than Roger to lose his QF (to JCF). Under such a scenario I would be out of running by picking Hewitt-Roddick match.

Of course there is a good chance of Roddick going down to Berdych. In that case I will have to recalculate...

I'm actually concerned for Roger. If he plays Ivo in the QF, anything could happen. It could easily be Sampras-Krajicek all over again. I think Murray would wipe the floor with JCF or Simon (that's my Brad Gilbert impression, I guess).

It's not normal at all. Although, if it's going to happen, the best chance would be at Wimbledon, where the round of 16 is played on a single day (not to mention the quarters). Two years ago, we had a lot too. They came down to 7 after Gasquet upset Roddick in the quarters.

I'm seeing a huge Roddick crowd in the quarters again this year. If Hewitt wins I guess we could be down to around that number again.

If Simon had come through for me today, I would have taken Hewitt over Roddick in the quarters. I probably would have been knocked out as a result, but sometimes sentimentality rules the SP picks. What can I say?

A bit of statistics.
If I haven't messed that up then among the 154 players
Wawrinka (who's still playing, though down 1:2) is used 120 times
Hewitt - 87 times
Djokovic - 68 times
Haas - 55 times
Karlovic - 40 times
Roddick - 15 times
Ferrero - 10 times
and everybody is saving both Fed and Murray.

Moreover, 10 guys have used both Haas and Djokovic, while other 8 - both Hewitt and Roddick.

so if Wawrinka somehow pulls out this fifth set, lots of people may have issues?

Amen to that. I've used up these two, also. The plan is to take an Andy for the next two rounds, then Rog for the win. (It's also OK for ALL plans for Tommy to take out Novak.)

Aren't they planning on Roddick-Murray-Federer or Roddick-Federer-Murray?

Alright all of you!

1) Roddick is my favorite player
2) I had Roddick in that fateful Wimbledon match a couple years ago. I was saving for a Fed over Nadal final so I woudla beat the draw too
3) I am joining the Roddick bandwagon for tomorrow

So just for the next 12 hours...let's not bring up THAT CURSED MATCH anymore!!!

I WILL be very happy if Roddick takes me out of the SP on Friday though :)

The match that Roddick consecutive tiebreak streak(lost 2 in a row) was stopped after leading a certain player, who has not played for a while, 2 sets to none and allowed that player to hit 93 winners.

HEY- as it turns out, I'd truly have been fine for Wawrinka to screw up my SP chances. Also fine by me for Roddick to make the final and put the nail in the coffin of my SP chances.

Still- I just had to play the odds here- at least as I see the odds. All for that shiny pretty little imaginary medal. PRECIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least 8 people will be eliminated today. However, if Lleyton, Juan Carlos, and Tommy win their matches, 146 will be eliminated.

Yes, but for a lot of us there were few options left to get to the final. And it was a hard choice between Tommy & Novak.

blomgren and I discussed and discussed....and discussed some more....and he wanted to pick against Federer in the final so he went with Djokovic here (however risky) because of having picked Haas. He wanted to go with Fed next and take all the stress out of the Andy/Andy match up since it wouldn't matter who won. I advised to go Roddick/Fed/Murray or Murray/Fed/Roddick if he wanted to go against the grain. He needs Novak to uncover a heart somewhere.....

I need a Roddick win to have a decent chance.

If Hewitt wins then I have to pick Fed or Haas next and will have nothing left for the final as I've already used Hewitt and Murray.

So, I'm hoping for a Roddick-Fed final with Fed taking it.

I'm sure there would be quite a few winners in that scenario.
