This isn't a tennis board is it?

Must win for Phoenix indeed. Spurs have beat them with timely shots.

Other than Utah/Houston, home team has won every game except Detroit in Game 1.

That was good to see. I think you're right though. I think the team went in the wrong direction with the Kidd trade.

Speaking of trades that didn't pan out ...

Buh bye Suns!

I know this has been said again and again, but the reasons why the SPURS list Ginobili as a bench player are inexplicable.
He is just burying the Suns with three's...
Seems this series can be over in 5 more minutes

wow---how about San Antonio blowing out Phoenix, in Phoenix!!!

It's over. Slam dunk. San Antonio's big three isn't ready to relinquish the championship evidently.

The problem for the West is that it's just going to be a bloodbath going forward.

Wise move for Pop to start Manu on the bench so he can see the flow of the action before he comes in and play his normal starters minutes. Tony Parker creamed the suns for 41. Suns wanted him to shoot jumpers and he kept making them after having 15 layups in the first 2 games.

At the time of the trade, I knew Dallas was making a mistake in letting Devin Harris go and pick up Jason Kidd. Chris Paul is going around him in circles and Kidd can not give Dallas the scoring it needs from him. On the Shaq trade, seems like Timmy is having his way as Shaq presence in the middle is basically useless.

Nobody has mentioned the Sixers - the biggest surprise of the playoffs so far. I know it's far from over but they're really taking it to the Pistons (something's off with Detroit as well).

I forget which TV guy said it, but something about a Detroit rout of Philly of Biblical proportions or something like that ... I agreed with him at the time, what a shocker! I love it though - can't stand the Sheed.

As a Pistons fan, I'm really worried time has finally caught up to the aloof Pistons. They don't have their hearts in it...maybe going down 2-1 will wake them up.

LA Lakers, NO Hornets, and Orlando Magic are busy resting their players while Boston and Detroit are in a heap of trouble. Meanwhile, what do you think the Cleveland fans have in store for Mr. Haywood(Bron a crybaby) and Mr. Stevenson(Bron overrated and was cuz of the rap battle) tomorrow?

ptmcmahon
04-29-2008, 08:55 PM
Not the least bit surprised about the Pistons falling behind...but thankfully coming back and taking the lead. The slumbering giant has awoken!

As a Pistons fan I'm obviously cheering for the Hawks. Could we have another huge upset like last year's Golden State - Dallas? This would be the biggest ever - a greater W-L difference than last year's. Plus Boston seems a legit threat to win the title while Dallas I still didn't take seriously last year.

Cleveland played to me like oh well even if we lose tonight we still lead 3-2. I think it might have been a huge mistake. Also coming down the stretch with just under two minutes to go to lose the 5 points lead may have been done them in. Hope I'm wrong though.

Get to writing. Boston has no business playing a Game 7 Sunday. Then, again this is not really a series because the road team is 0 for the series.

Crybaby had 27 pts (100% from line in 10 attempts), 13 rebounds and 13 assists and now he rest for a few days thanks to Atlanta

LA Lakers, NO Hornets, and Deeeeeeeetroit Pistons are up 1-0 over Utah, San Antonio, and Orlando while Boston has finally arrived to their appointment with Crybaby and Cleveland.

Boston wins that series in 7. Road team will be 0-7 just like the Boston/Atlanta series.

Loving that my Pistons could be up 2-0 before the Celts/Cavs have even started there series. Hoping they keep it serious for a little longer. After my Packers and Canadiens lost games/series they should've won in bad fashion the Pistons are my last hope for 2008 (I have no MLB team as a former Expos fan still bitter.)

And this is my problem with the NBA overlap.

If nothing else, it's unfair to Cleveland, who just like Detroit won their series in six, and yet will potentially have significantly less rest before their conference final by no fault of their own.

They really should shorten the games, because so rarely are the first three quarters relevant.

(2) Detroit/Los Angeles Lakers - Rematch of 2005 NBA championship
(3) Detroit/San Antonio - Rematch of 2006 NBA championship

On the one hand, Kobe Bryant is so obnoxious, and it's fun seeing him fail. On the other hand, there are just so many self-righteous, loudmouthed Boston fans coming out of the woodwork these days, and you actually have to interact with them, unlike Kobe who is off in his own little world.

I think that's what makes soccer/football more exciting. Even in the NFL, the final 2 minutes can last an eternity.

(Soccer - stoppage time, I still don't get, but meh.)

True on NFL.

Boston ends the NBA season tonight.

They stop time when there is an "injury" - as you know there are lots of fake injuries (how many times has someone been carted off field then they hop of the second they get to sideline and run back on field.) This way teams can't waste time by faking injuries. Ref's decision as to how much time he adds as he's the official time...television doesn't even try guessing, but after 45 real minutes ref tells everyone approx how much is left.

And agreed...much better to finish game this way than NBA. NHL is great as well, each time only gets one timeout all game, so it rarely lasts a lot longer.

Hockey too :)

I still haven't figured out why Americans insist on making all their sports as static as possible... :lipsrsealed:

I'm a Knicks fan and I'm saying go Celtics! Beat down in effect.

Stick a fork in Kobe and Co. Why is Kobe sitting on the bench! He should be out there! Would Jordan be sitting, no!

I guess Phil and Co. think it's pointless.

Meh! I was hoping for a game 7

If Boston screws this up I'm gonna write a letter.

This was from April 30th. I'll be shoving my stationary up Kobe's ***.

WAY TO GO CELTS!!!

You should thank Loxy, and not me. Seems she's friendly with Dunlop and threaten to do things to me I can't repeat, if I did not do this to help her friend.

Thanks for throwing that in. I love basking in the reflective glow. Or I guess the reflected reflective glow in this case.

That was amazing. I never expected it to be so one sided.

Just imagine, if the Pats hadn't muffed it Boston/New England would be holding the MLB, NFL, and NBA titles! This has got to bode well for Rhode Island's own Jill Craybas at Wimbledon, right?

Makes perfect sense to me, Jack (and Jill)

BTW, there was a whole lot of noise here from the Celt's celebration. Shock, it got even louder when the bars closed. Even my industrial strength earplugs were useless.

One guy under my window almost got it. He's lucky all I had in my arsenal was the laser pointer on my key chain.

Seriously, I'm glad no one got hurt. Police and fans were cool.

Today the rally was insane. If I squinted from my window it was a sea of golf pants green. It was as if the world was a but a bowl of Lucky Charms.

I'll stop there. Only bad thing was that I wore a black t shirt and a bunch of kids started shouting "Laker's fan, Laker's fan." Black t shirt? :undecided:
